Ice Cold In Alex is a British war film based on the novel of the same name by Christopher Landon. It stars the late Sir John Mills and was released under the title "Desert Attack" in America – this version also had 48 minutes cut out of it, all of which are included on this DVD.
An interesting, but pointless fact for you – in the final scene, where Mills’ character finally gets his lager, real alcohol was used. Mills had to drink numerous glassfuls until shooting was completed, and so was slightly "tipsy" by the time he’d finished.
