Transformers (Blu-Ray) £7.99

Many people of a certain age will remember the animated series of Transformers with a fond heart, even if it was basically a glorified advert for the accompanying toy line – although this is a tad bit cynical (though somewhat grounded in truth).

The big-screen version took a fair while to make it to cinemas, but when it did we were rewarded with something that surpassed expectations in a big way. The sequel has since been released too, but the least said about it the better I'm afraid…

On the Buses: The Complete Series £17.95

On the Buses is a British situation comedy that was rejected by the BBC, which led to the creators instead offering the show to ITV – who snapped it up and subsequently turned it into one of the most famous series' we've ever had.

The On the Buses: The Complete Series boxset contains all 74 episodes that were ever produced, along with the first installment of spin-off "Don't Drink the Water" (which is about the adventures of Blakey in Spain).

Blu-Ray hasn't quite taken off as much as some would have hoped, but with prices falling by a fairly big amount in recent times it could be a good idea to look at the technology – trust me when I say that the jump from standard DVD to high definition is incredible.

The Sony BDP-S360 Blu-Ray player not only allows you to play Blu-Rays, but will also upscale your DVDs as well. What this basically means is that the picture is improved (although obviously a bit below what you'd get with true HD).

Horton Hears a Who! (Blu-Ray) £6.85

Not just content with being one of the best comedy actors of all time, Jim Carrey has decided in more recent times to lend his talent to the animated field as well – with Horton Hears a Who!, which is based on the Dr Seuss book of the same name, being one of the better efforts.

This high definition version of the movie looks and sounds absolutely fantastic, plus it comes with all of the bonus material from the DVD. This includes an audio commentary with the directors, the "Surviving Sid" short film, nine deleted scenes, an interactive game and tons of featurettes on the making of the movie.

Even though ER lasted for a total of 15 seasons, which is pretty much unheard of for a prime-time American show, it's still nowhere near as long-running as our very own medical drama Casualty – after 694 installments it still keeps viewers hooked on people falling off ladders, getting run over, or simply having a bit of a sore head (how frightfully British).

Inside the ER: The Complete Series boxset you'll find a whopping 45 discs which hold all 331 episodes ever produced. Also included are countless hours of bonus material, which ranges from audio commentaries through to featurettes and deleted scenes.

Ultimate Rambo Collection £8.95

If you're an action movie fan and haven't seen any of the Rambo films, I command you to purchase the Ultimate Rambo Collection boxset right this second – seriously, it's something that you really will come back to time and time again.

In it you'll find four of the best examples of how to do the genre well. Be warned though, the most recent one (confusingly titled "Rambo") is incredibly violent – some would say a little bit too much so.

Thunderbirds: The Complete Series £14.99

It's a little surprising (to me anyway) that Thunderbirds only lasted for two series', and that only 32 episodes were made in total. Considering it's still very popular even now is proof that quality television stands the test of time – this is now 44 years old!

Thunderbirds: The Complete Series is a nine disc boxset that has all of these installments, plus it also comes loaded with bonus material. These include multiple featurettes on the characters and creation of the show, alongside interviews with some of the people who worked behind the scenes.
