Red Road (Blu-Ray) £6.95

Red Road is a British film which tells the story of a CCTV operator who observes through her monitors a man from her past. It is named after, and partly set at, the Red Road flats in Glasgow which were the tallest residential buildings in Europe at the time they were built.

The picture and sound quality on this high definition release is top drawer, as you'd expect, though the extra features only amount to some raw footage and a collection of cast and crew interviews.

The Wizard of Oz: Collector’s Edition £4.99

Everybody has seen The Wizard of Oz I presume. If you've been living under a rock, it's a classic film about a girl who gets transported to a magical land where she must defeat an evil witch in order to save Oz.

The The Wizard of Oz: Collector's Edition DVD contains three discs. The first two have hours of bonus material (including audio commentaries and multiple documentaries), whilst the third features unseen versions of The Wizard of Oz story.

Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) £13.97

Even though the first one came out some 32 years ago, the Star Wars films (in particular the original trilogy) continue to entertain movie-lovers both young and old. Amazing, especially when you consider that almost everybody wrote George Lucas off before seeing A New Hope.

This Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) boxset contains the first three iconic films in the series, along with hours of bonus material. The even better news is that both the original and tinkered versions of each movie are included.

Sophie Scholl (Blu-Ray) £6.83

The last days in the life of a 21-year-old member of the anti-Nazi non-violent student resistance group the White Rose named Sophie Scholl are brought to the big screen via the German film imaginatively titled Sophie Scholl – which means that yes, subtitles will appear throughout.

This high definition release of the movie looks and sounds fantastic, plus it comes with some interesting bonus materials as well. These include a "making of" featurette, 12 deleted and alternative scenes and a handful of historic interviews.

Seasons of X-Men £2.85

X-Men: The Animated Series (as it was known in some parts of the world, so to not get confused with the films, etc.) is the show based on the characters created by Marvel Comics. Running for a total of five years, it is considered by many to be one of the better attempts at depicting the group.

Appearing on DVD in volume form, sadly none contain any extra features at all – definitely something of a missed opportunity and a bit of a let-down for long-term fans of the iconic characters.

Shrek 2: Special Edition £3

Sequels are always very hard to get right – if it's too similar to the original people will complain, but if it's completely different then nobody will watch it! Thankfully Shrek 2 manages to be very good indeed, and is considered by many to be the best film in the series thus far.
