Scotland has been a hotbed for comedy talent over the years, with many more on the horizon (just take a look at Limmy and the team of Robert Florence and Iain Connell). Still Game is one such example of turning jokes from something only considered funny to Scots to a show which has proved incredibly popular across the whole of the UK.

Alan Partridge has gone down as an iconic figure in British comedy, so much so that Steve Coogan still can't escape him even after crossing the pond to Hollywood (with a big-screen outing for Partridge apparently due to appear within the next couple of years).

Torchwood: Series One to Three (Blu-Ray) £33.50

Torchwood: Series One to Three (Blu-Ray)

Although some were critical of its almost Scooby-Doo like nature (I'm looking at you Charlie Brooker), there's no denying that Torchwood is/was a very entertaining spin-off from Doctor Who – even if it did mean yet more John Barrowman on the BBC!

The Torchwood: Series One to Three boxset, on Blu-Ray, contains all 31 episodes ever made, in glorious high definition. You'll also find hours of bonus material, which includes audio commenatries, deleted scenes, outtakes, featurettes and lots more.

Select Cheaper are selling this for £33.50 – click here for more details.

The Longest Yard, Big Daddy and Click Triple Pack £3.97

The Longest Yard, Big Daddy and Click triple pack contains a total of three cheap DVDs

Adam Sandler is very much a Marmite actor – you either love him or hate him, with pretty much no middle ground. Although he has been a tad guilty of putting out some horrendous guff in recent times (step forward You Don't Mess with the Zohan), let's never forget the genius of Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.

Anyway, inside The Longest Yard, Big Daddy and Click triple pack you'll find three films starring Sandler. Of them all, I'd say that Click is perhaps the best – though Big Daddy certainly has its moments as well.

Click here to buy this for £3.97 from Tesco. This goes down to £3.37 if you use the Tesco 15% discount.

The Sweeney: The Complete Series £15.85

The Sweeney: The Complete Series

The late John Thaw is perhaps better known to viewers as Inspector Morse, but for many he will always be the tough no-nonsense copper John "Jack" Regan from The Sweeney. Teaming up with Dennis Waterman as George Carter, the show was one of the most popular around in the mid-70's.

The Sweeney: The Complete Series contains all 53 episodes ever made, across a total of 14 discs. This is a vanilla release, which means that it comes with absolutely no extra features (but at a much lower price than the other set which does).
