Rome is an award-winning historical drama series that was also actually filmed in Italy as well. The first year depicts Julius Caesar’s rise to absolute dictatorship over the city and his eventual fall - against this backdrop we also see the early years of the young Octavian (who is destined to become the first Emperor of Rome, Augustus).

Inside the Rome: The Complete First Season boxset you’ll find the 12 installments that make up this first outing, along with a plethora of bonus material. This includes multiple audio commentaries, a look at the historical facts behind the stories, and a couple of extensive "behind the scenes" documentaries.

Happy Feet (Blu-Ray) £9.99

Kids everywhere will love Happy Feet, which is an animated film about some singing penguins. You’re nobody if you can’t sing in the great nation of Emperor Penguins, which is a shame for Mumble - he’s the worst singer in the world! Thankfully he can tap dance, but this doesn’t sit right with everyone else…

An all-star cast provide the voices, including Robin Williams and Hugh Jackman, and, as this is a high definition release, the picture and sound are both fantastic.

Long Way Down: The Complete Series - Special Edition £8.99

After riding from London to New York via Eurasia and North America as part of their Long Way Round tour, Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor hop back on their motorcycles for another journey. Long Way Down sees them riding south through 18 countries, from John o’ Groats in Scotland all the way down to Cape Town in South Africa.

The Long Way Down: The Complete Series - Special Edition DVD is a three disc set that contains ten extended episodes, some short featurettes, and a documentary about the pair’s fist visit to Africa in 2006.

A Celebration Of British Film £17.99

The only reason that Titanic is included in the boxset titled A Celebration Of British Film must be that it features Kate Winslet, and she was born in England. An incredibly tenuous link I agree, but I can think of no other explanation (other than laziness).

Also included in this 10 disc boxset are another nine movies - An Affair To Remember, Chariots Of Fire, Confetti, A Fish Called Wanda, Four Weddings And A Funeral, The Full Monty, The King And I, Mrs Henderson Presents, and The Queen.

Baywatch: Seasons One To Four From £3.99

I’m sure that males everywhere remember Baywatch with a fond heart, thanks to its gripping storylines and wonderful acting…who am I kidding?!? The only real reason many watched was for the women - although perhaps the sight of David Hasselhoff in trunks was attractive to some as well!

CD-WOW currently have the first four seasons available for very reasonable prices. Certainly cheaper than some pornography anyway!

Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather £4.83

The Sky One adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather closely follows the plot of the novel. The Hogfather, who’s the Discworld equivalent to Father Christmas, has gone missing, and Death is forced to take his place whilst his granddaughter tries to find out what’s happened.

This double disc DVD contains both parts of the comedy drama, as well as some extra features. These amount to some deleted scenes, TV spots, and a fairly extensive documentary.

Prime Suspect: The Complete Collection £15.99

Helen Mirren may have become well-known the world over after winning an Academy Award for her work in "The Queen", but everyone in this country will probably remember her best for her portrayal of Jane Tennison in police drama series Prime Suspect.

Still Game: The Complete Series One To Five £16.99

After a falling out between the creators of the hit comedy, there’s going to be no Christmas or New Year Specials of Still Game this year - and the very future of the show itself is up in the air as well, which is quite sad really.

Anyway, you can still enjoy the first 33 episodes in the Still Game: The Complete Series One To Five boxset. There’s no bonus material, but the episodes themselves should be more than enough to keep you entertained.

Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy £10

Out of the many inspirations filmmakers have, I have to say that a theme park ride is very strange. However, the Pirates Of The Caribbean films are based on the Disneyland attraction and have turned out to be quite the success - to the tune of some $2.7 billion at the box office!

This Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy boxset contains the three that have been made so far. Both "The Curse Of The Black Pearl" and "Dead Man’s Chest" are the single disc releases, whilst "At World’s End" is the special edition which comes with tons of bonus material.
