Dad’s Army: The Complete Collection £29.98

Dad's Army: The Complete Collection contains a total of 14 cheap DVDs

Until 1978 both the BBC and ITV didn't have proper archives for programmes recorded on video tape, which resulted in significant amounts of material being wiped. Dad's Army is less affected than most, but three episodes from the second series are missing, and one installment from series three was filmed in colour but now only exists in black and white.

Dad's Army: The Complete Collection is a big 14 disc set that contains all of the surviving episodes, including the three Christmas specials. There's also a couple of documentaries, radio remakes of the lost episodes, three "Christmas Night With The Stars" sketches, and other short odds and sods.

Classic Comedy Boxset £7.85

While a subject like which comedy films would be considered classic is quite subjective, there's no denying that the contents of this Classic Comedy Boxset are, at the very least, more than worth a watch (with a couple definitely warranting multiple viewings).

The Jerk, The Blues Brothers, Parenthood, Uncle Buck, Groundhog Day and Liar Liar are all excellent in their own right, although I personally have a special place in my heart for Groundhog Day.

Starsky and Hutch: The Complete Collection £16.49

Starsky and Hutch: The Complete Collection

Even after Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson lampooned the series in a feature-length film, Starsky and Hutch still holds up as a very good police drama even today. The fashion and police tactics may have changed somewhat, but it's still great to watch.

Starsky and Hutch: The Complete Collection is a huge 20 disc boxset that contains all 93 episodes ever made from the four series'. There's also some special features that look at the making of the show and the aforementioned movie.

Jonathan Creek: Complete Series One to Four and The Christmas Specials £16.98

Jonathan Creek: Complete Series One to Four and The Christmas Specials

Jonathan Creek was quite unusual for a drama series in that it featured comic characters, comic sub-plots, and actors associated with comedy roles putting in straight performances. After a break of four years, a special one-off was shown in January of this year (with another planned for Easter 2010).

The Jonathan Creek: Complete Series One to Four and The Christmas Specials boxset does exactly what it says on the tin. The first 25 episodes are present and correct, and you also get some interesting bonus material as well.

Leon: Special Edition (Blu-Ray) £6.95

Leon: Special Edition (Blu-Ray)

Leon is a French English-language film which follows the work of a professional hitman (or "cleaner" as he would rather be known) living a solitary life in New York City, whose life is turned upside down after a chance meeting with a 12 year-old girl.

This excellent film looks and sounds fantastic in high definition, plus it comes with two different versions – the standard 110 minute cut and an extended director's cut which runs for an additional 23 minutes.

Only Fools and Horses: The Complete Series One to Seven £24.98

Only Fools and Horses: The Complete Series One to Seven

Even though it's been off our screens for around five years now, Only Fools And Horses is still as popular as ever. Sadly the follow up, The Green Green Grass, has been very poor – although somehow still manages to keep from being cancelled by the BBC.

The Only Fools and Horses: The Complete Series One to Seven boxset contains all 48 regular episodes ever made. Please note that this doesn't contain any of the Christmas Specials though (they are available separately).

Amazon are selling this set for £24.98 – click here for more details.

The Lost Prince (Blu-Ray) £3.49

The Lost Prince (Blu-Ray)

The Lost Prince tells the true story of Prince John, the youngest child of Britain's King George V and Queen Mary, who died of epilepsy at the age of 13 in 1919. The Royal Family tried to shelter him from public view, but this drama shows how much this cost them emotionally (particularly his mother).

For its high definition release, you'll find the absolute best picture and sound quality available at this time. There's also a feature-length audio commentary with the director, designer and composer included as well.

Click here to buy The Lost Prince, on Blu-Ray, for £3.49 from CD-WOW.

Doctor Who: The Rescue and The Romans £4.43

Doctor Who: The Rescue and The Romans

With many fans getting ready for the last appearance of the David Tennant era, it's easy for newer viewers to forget that Doctor Who has been around for ages – William Hartnell portrayed him first way back in 1963, and this Doctor Who: The Rescue and The Romans boxset has episodes set during his time in the role.

Along with the four installments that make up "The Rescue" story arc and the two that constitute "The Romans", you'll also find audio commentaries for all six episodes as well.

Fonejacker: Series Two £2.85

Fonejacker: Series Two

With all the nonsense not too long ago with Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, it's perhaps good to see how other comedians go about doing prank calls without turning the whole country against them – like in Fonejacker.

Only twelve episodes were ever made of the Channel 4 series, although for some reason it does seem as though there were more (strange that). The Fonejacker: Series Two DVD contains six installments plus a wide variety of different special features.

Viz Boxset £4.97

Viz Boxset

Don't be fooled by the look of either this DVD collection or the comic itself – Viz is very much aimed at adults, with near-enough constant references to sex and toilet humour by the truck load (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

Anyway, this Viz Boxset contains four discs featuring animated films starring some of the best characters from the comic. "Sis the Sexist", "Oh, Lordy! It's the Fat Slags: Three Saucy Adventures", "Oh, Lordy! It's the Fat Slags:Blue Honeymoon", "Roger Mellie: The Man of Tellie" and "Billy the Fish" are all pretty good in their own right.

Tesco have this available for £4.97 – for more information, click here.
