The Wire: The Complete Series £44.99

Each season of The Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore – in order they are the drug trade, the port, the city bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. Although it's never won any awards or been commercially successful, anyone who has seen even a small part of the show will tell you that it's one of the greatest TV series' ever made.

The Wire: The Complete Series boxset contains a total of 24 discs, which hold all 60 episodes ever made. You'll also find multiple audio commentaries, and a few short featurettes (pity there aren't more, but as it's such a brilliant programme I doubt you'll mind too much).

The Shield: The Complete Sixth Season £5

As enjoyable as The Shield was, everything must finish at some point – with the seventh season being confirmed as the last not too long after this set came out. I suppose there's an outside chance that a film could be made at some point, but it's by no means guaranteed.

The Shield: The Complete Sixth Season contains all 11 episodes, in the year where Vic and the Strike Team are in disarray after the events of season five – which I'd suggest you watch before getting this set…

Night Watch and Day Watch Double Pack (Blu-Ray) £10.63

While it's quite unusual that Russian films even get a theatrical release in this country, when you see either Night Watch or Day Watch you'll quickly understand why they did – both are excellent fantasy horror movies that entertain from beginning until end.

The Night Watch and Day Watch double pack, on Blu-Ray, contains the two films in glorious high definition. Also included are a bunch of extra features, such as audio commentaries and featurettes on the making of the movies.

Alien vs Predator: Collector’s Boxset (Blu-Ray) £10.76

Separately, the Alien and Predator franchises have gone from great to average – when combined, they've stunk the place up worse than a room full of skunks. That being said, if you're a fan of no-brainer action films with lots of death and explosions, you'll probably get some enjoyment out of both Alien vs Predator films.

The Alien vs Predator: Collector's Boxset, on Blu-Ray, contains both average movies and a whole host of bonus material. Both look absolutely fantastic picture-wise, and the sound is top-drawer as well.

Classic Comedy Boxset £5

While a subject like which comedy films would be considered classic is quite subjective, there's no denying that the contents of this Classic Comedy Boxset are, at the very least, more than worth a watch (with a couple definitely warranting multiple viewings).

The Jerk, The Blues Brothers, Parenthood, Uncle Buck, Groundhog Day and Liar Liar are all excellent in their own right, although I personally have a special place in my heart for Groundhog Day.

Essential Comedy Boxset £5

Everyone enjoys a laugh every once in a while (well they should do anyway!), so this Essential Comedy Boxset should prove to be something of a hit with those who like their films with more than a chuckle or three.

Inside it you'll find The-40-Year Old Virgin, American Pie, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Not Another Teen Movie, Superbad and Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby are all decent in their own rights – looking at these, the highlights have to be American Pie and Superbad.

Men Behaving Badly: Six Pack £14.85

Men Behaving Badly was a British comedy series that followed the lives of flatmates Gary Strang and Tony Smart. Interestingly, this first started on ITV and then moved to the BBC after one series – where it went on to become a huge success.

The Men Behaving Badly: Six Pack contains every episode from series one to six, but sadly doesn't include the "Jingle Balls!" Christmas Special or the final three extended episodes. Ah well!

Though many have since forgotten it, George and Mildred actually started off life as the landlord and landlady from Man About the House – a series based on the two was then spun off, and actually became just as popular as its "parent" show.

Inside the George and Mildred: The Complete Series boxset you'll find all 38 episodes ever produced. Sadly there aren't any extra features included, which is a shame as the Australian version has some audio commentaries with star Brian Murphy.
