The League Of Gentlemen is a sketch-based comedy programme which links together by being set in the fictional village of Royston Vasey, somewhere in the North of England. It follows the lives of dozens of the village’s bizarre inhabitants, with Papa Lazarou being one of the most memorable.

Inside The League Of Gentlemen: The Complete Collection boxset you’ll find the three series’ made so far (a fourth will appear at some point in the future) and the Christmas Special from 2000. It’s a pity that they didn’t bother to include the film here, but I think I’ll get over it!

The Thin Blue Line: Complete Series One And Two £4.99

Rowan Atkinson is best known for either playing Mr Bean or his portrayal of the lead character in Blackadder. He also starred in the short-lived BBC sitcom The Thin Blue Line, which is set in a police station.

The Thin Blue Line: Complete Series One And Two contains all 14 episodes.

Star Trek: Fan Collective Sets From £8.47

To celebrate nothing in particular, Paramount have released various Star Trek: Fan Collective sets which contain ten episodes on a selected theme. All five Star Trek TV series’ are represented, and the episodes were chosen by Star Trek fans on the official website.

The Star Trek: Time Travel Fan Collective has two episodes which are considered by many to be the best in the franchise’s history, in the shape of "The City On The Edge Of Forever" from the original series and "Trials And Tribbal-ations" from Deep Space Nine.

Instead of getting fans to vote for which episodes they would like to appear in the Star Trek: Q Fan Collective boxset, Paramount decided to just include every single one he appeared in.

He mostly popped up in The Next Generation, but there are also one or two outings from Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

From the five Fan Collective releases, the Star Trek: Klingon Fan Collective has the largest number of episodes to draw from, so don’t be too upset if your favourite doesn’t appear in it.

Annoyingly, these sets quite often have the same episode across more than one - case in point, "Trials And Tribbal-ations". It’s on both this release and the Time Travel one, which is a bit of a waste of time if you ask me.

Weeds: Seasons One And Two £15.89

Weeds is a US comedy series that revolves around a widowed housewife from an affluent California suburb, who becomes her neighbourhood’s marijuana dealer to makes ends meet.

The Weeds: Seasons One And Two boxset contains the first 22 episodes. There was supposed to be a short extra feature spoofing cookery shows, but this was rejected by the BBFC for "promoting drug usage".

High School Musical 2: Extended Edition £3.99

Musicals have come back into fashion in a big way recently, and the High School Musical series has brought the genre to kids everywhere. High School Musical 2 is basically a continuation of the first film, but with more singing and dancing than ever before (along with some terribly wooden acting, it must be said).

The High School Musical 2: Extended Edition DVD has an extra seven minutes of deleted footage put back in. There’s also some music videos and bloopers to be found on the disc.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete Collection £59.98

Sarah Michelle Gellar has the lead role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and plays the only person who stands between mankind and a range of different demons who plot to destroy life as we know it. The male chauvinist in me is also glad that she’s very easy on the eye!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete Collection comes with the full running order of 144 episodes, as well as a whole ton of special features. These consist of the standard featurettes and audio commentaries that accompany most TV DVD releases.

The Coen Brothers Collection £7.99

The Coen Brothers are known for making screwball comedies (like The Hudsucker Proxy), film noir (No Country For Old Men), and movies that combine the two genres (like The Big Lebowski). This shows not only how talented the two are, but how versatile they are as directors.

Inside The Coen Brothers Collection there are copies of three of their best works - Fargo, Raising Arizona, and Miller’s Crossing.

The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection £11.83

If we try and forget that the last two Alien films were made, along with Alien Vs Predator, then The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection is one of the best boxsets around.

In it you’ll find Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Predator, Predator 2, and Alien Vs Predator. Like I said, the two Predator and first two Alien movies are excellent - the rest are average to poor.

Pushing Daisies: The Complete First Season £12.89

Pushing Daisies is a comedy drama series about a guy who can bring people back from the dead. The only problem is that if he touches them again they go back to being dead…for good - which could be a bit of a problem after resurrecting his childhood sweetheart.

All nine episodes from the first year are contained in the Pushing Daisies: The Complete First Season boxset. ITV decided not to show the second one, so this is your chance to see the show as it was supposed to air.
