Captain Scarlet: The Complete Series £16.89

After the international success of "Thunderbirds", Gerry and Sylvia Anderson had a string of other popular science fiction series' – which is where Captain Scarlet comes in. After the Mysterons declare war on Earth, Captain Scarlet becomes Spectrum's principal weapon at the forefront of the battle…

Captain Scarlet: The Complete Series is a six disc boxset that contains all 32 episodes of the original, and best, version of the show. Also to be found in this set are some interesting extra features, including audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, and the "Captain Scarlet S.I.G." documentary.

Mamma Mia!: The Movie – Gift Set £6.99

Considering its massive success at the box office, I'd be very surprised if there's anyone left on the planet who doesn't know what Mamma Mia! is. In case you've been living under a rock, it's a musical based on the songs of Abba which has since been turned into a film.

The Mamma Mia!: The Movie – Gift Set contains a copy of the movie on DVD, plus a hardback journal and a pen. Not very exciting, but it does look quite nice I suppose.

Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series – Ultimate Edition £69.99

Battlestar Galactica was a re-imaging of the 1978 show of the same name, with much better acting and considerably improved special effects (as you'd expect). With spin-off Caprica due to start in 2010, it looks as though we'll be staying in the universe for some time to come…

Inside the Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series – Ultimate Edition set you'll find all 75 episodes ever made, along with all of the bonus material from the individual season releases. Also included is a bonus disc with even more extras, and a Cylon figure.

Classic War Collection £9.97

War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing… Well, to be fair we have had a fair few decent films based on conflict over the years, which isn't to say this is some kind of consolation prize – nobody really wins when countries battle each other.

Anyway, this Classic War Collection boxset contains nine of the very best movies from the genre. Battle of Britain, A Bridge Too Far, The Great Escape, The Longest Day, Patton, The Sand Pebbles, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Twelve O'Clock High and Von Ryan's Express are all excellent in their own rights.

Iron Man (Blu-Ray) £9.85

Iron Man is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, and stars Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark – a billionaire industrialist and master engineer who builds a powered exoskeleton and becomes the technologically advanced superhero.

This high definition release sees the movie look and sound absolutely fantastic, plus it comes with all of the bonus material found on the Ultimate Edition DVD. Documentaries, deleted scenes and screen tests are just some of what you'll find on the two discs.

Angels and Demons (Blu-Ray) £10.95

Angels and Demons is an adaptation of Dan Brown's novel by the same name – although this film version is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, the book was actually a prequel (director Ron Howard believed many had read it after The Da Vinci Code and didn't like it as much!).

This high definition release has absolutely fantastic picture and sound quality, plus you get a whole host of extras not found on the DVD version. These include an extended version of the movie, three featurettes on the making of the film, and an interactive game.

Heroes: Season Three £17.99

After some criticism over the second season, the team behind Heroes went away to think something up for the third year – the result was a split season titled "Heroes and Villains" (for reasons that become very clear once you've watched it).

The Heroes: Season Three boxset is a six disc collection which contains all 25 episodes from the year, along with a handful of featurettes, deleted scenes and some alternate stories.
