While promoting The Matrix in Japan, writers and directors the Wachowski brothers visited some of the creators of anime films which had influenced their work – leading to a collaborative effort which became The Animatrix.

This high definition release of nine short films based on The Matrix series looks and sounds as good as you'd expect. Also included are all of the extras from the standard DVD version, such as audio commentaries on "The Second Renaissance, Part I", "The Second Renaissance, Part II", "Program" and "World Record".

Teachers: The Complete Series £17.93

Teachers: The Complete Series

Teachers was a very good comedy drama series shown on Channel 4 between 2001 and 2004, at least for the first three years anyway. Sadly the fourth series wasn't very good at all, probably down to the fact that most of the original cast had left.

Teachers: The Complete Series contains every episode ever made, but there's no special features to speak of. Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, if you ask me.

3rd Rock from the Sun is a comedy show about a group of extraterrestrial scientists on an expedition of Earth (the "3rd rock" from the sun) to observe human beings, under the disguise of a "family".

A total of 139 episodes were made over the course of six seasons, and the 3rd Rock from the Sun: The Complete Series set contains them all – along with some extra features, including audio commentaries and deleted scenes.

After well-respected actor Charles Dance (rightfully) blew his top at Trinity being delayed for quite some time to make room for the dreadful "Paris Hilton's British Best Friend", you'd think ITV2 might make a bit of an effort to give it a push when it finally started in September 2009 – sadly, they did pretty much nothing.

Anyway, this three disc boxset contains all eight episodes that were made. Also included is a "making of" fluff-piece with a couple of the actors from the show.

There's a Disney DVD and Blu-Ray buy one get one free offer running across many different retailers. This quite often appears around Christmas, but the prices are normally jacked up quite a bit – unless you go to Amazon…

Included are some of their most famous films, such as Sleeping Beauty and The Jungle Book, with the cost going down to just under £5 or £6 each – depending on whether you go for the HD versions or not.

Sonic Underground is an animated series which follows the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and his siblings, pink hedgehog Sonia and green-hued Manic. Sadly it was cancelled before many of the plots were resolved, leaving some questions to be answered about various events throughout the show…

Inside the Sonic Underground: The Complete Series boxset you'll find four discs which contain all 40 episodes produced. Also included is a bonus fifth disc which holds some bonus features (exactly what, I'm not 100% sure).
