Law Abiding Citizen: Director’s Cut (Blu-Ray) £11.99

Law Abiding Citizen: Director's Cut (Blu-Ray)

Law Abiding Citizen is a thriller which takes place in Philadelphia and tells the story of a man (Gerard Butler) who decides to exact justice on his family's killers, as well as the criminal justice system itself – with often horrifying results…

This high definition release comes with the best picture and sound quality around, plus it has all of the extra features from the DVD version too. Sadly these only amount to a handful of featurettes on the making of the film – better than nothing, I suppose!

Blockbuster are selling the Law Abiding Citizen: Director's Cut (Blu-Ray) for £11.99 – click here for more details on this cheap DVDs' availability.

One Foot in the Grave: The Complete Boxset £17.85

One Foot in the Grave: The Complete Boxset

I don't believe it! You can now get every episode ever made of One Foot in the Grave on DVD. It's funny that the older you get, the more you start to sympathise with how Victor Meldrew thought about the world (that's the case with me at least).

One Foot in the Grave: The Complete Boxset gathers together all of the various releases in one handy collection. The 12 discs contained feature not only all the regular episodes from all six series', but the Christmas specials as well.

Paddington Bear: The Whole Collection £8.99

Paddington Bear: The Whole Collection

While episodes of Paddington Bear only lasted for around five minutes each on average, for many people of a certain age they are perhaps more memorable than the Michael Bond books they were based on – unusual for something created in 1975.

Inside the Paddington Bear: The Whole Collection suitcase you'll find four discs which contain all 56 installments. Also included are the "Paddington Goes to the Movies", "Paddington Goes to School" and "Paddington's Birthday Bonaza" specials which all run for over 20 minutes each.

The Hammer Collection: Collector’s Edition Boxset £33.97

The Hammer Collection: Collector's Edition Boxset contains a total of 21 cheap DVDs

First founded in 1934, Hammer Film Productions is probably best known for a series of "Hammer Horror" films made from the mid-1950s until the 1970s. During this time the company dominated the horror movie market, enjoying worldwide distribution and considerable financial success.

The Hammer Collection: Collector's Edition Boxset contains 21 of the best films that they produced during this time. The Nanny, SHE, Dracula: Prince Of Darkness, One Million Years BC, Plague Of The Zombies, Rasputin: The Mad Monk, The Reptile, The Witches, Frankenstein Created Woman, Quatermass And The Pit, Slave Girls, To The Devil A Daughter, Viking Queen, The Devil Rides Out, The Vengeance Of SHE, The Horror Of Frankenstein, The Scars Of Dracula, Blood From The Mummy's Tomb, Demons Of The Night, Fear In The Night and Straight On Til Morning all come with their own unique extra features as well.

The Simpsons: The Twelfth Season £14.99

The Simpsons: The Twelfth Season

Although there was a noticeable drop in quality after a time, it doesn't mean to say that The Simpsons became that much worse – it's just that some of the earlier stuff is funnier and more sharp (to be fair, it must be increasingly hard to come up with new material after 20 years!).

Anyway, The Simpsons: The Twelfth Season contains all 21 episodes from the late 2000 to May 2001 run of the show. Highlights from this time include the return of Sideshow Bob and "Worst Episode Ever", with cover star Comic Book Guy being the main character for once.

Greatest Ever… Gangsters Steelbook Boxset £7.47

Greatest Ever... Gangsters Steelbook Boxset

As good as all of the films in the Greatest Ever… Gangsters Steelbook Boxset are, I'm a little confused by the inclusion of Taxi Driver. Travis Bickle is a loner who begins to go a bit mad – absolutely nothing to do with gangsters whatsoever (it is a great movie though).

The other titles to be found in this set are just as good, being that they are Casino, Donnie Brasco, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, and Scarface. Very nearly a clean sweep for De Niro and Pacino, barring Lock Stock.

The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Blu-Ray) £39.96

The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Blu-Ray)

It's well worth pointing out straight away that the The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Blu-Ray) boxset contains the theatrical versions of all three films – much to the annoyance of some rabid fans, as the extended movies are also to be released at some point in the future.

If this isn't a problem for you, then you'll be getting The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in glorious high definition – with a truckload of special features thrown in too.

Star Trek (2009) £5.85

Star Trek (2009)

Star Trek (2009) is the J. J. Abrams "reboot" of the long-running science fiction franchise, which does the unthinkable by being exciting enough to enthrall both Trekkies AND mainstream audiences (for one of the first times in absolutely ages).

Anyway, this single disc version of the film isn't quite as packed as the Special Edition, but it does have a few extra features. Chief amongst these is an audio commentary, with the "A New Vision" featurette and some outtakes included for good measure.

The Hut have this available for £5.85 – for more information, click here.

Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1989-1997) £7

Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1989-1997)

Christopher Nolan may have brought The Dark Knight to the attention of mainstream audiences, but many of us will still have a place in our hearts for at least two of the original four Batman films – even if Batman Forever is mediocre and Batman and Robin is possibly the worst movie ever produced.

The Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1989-1997) boxset contains Batman, Batman Forever and the aforementioned Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. No extra features though, which is a bit of a shame…
