ER: The Complete Tenth Season £6.97

ER: The Complete Tenth Season

Now entering its 15th (and final) year, ER is probably the world’s second-longest running medical drama behind our own Casualty. Unlike Casualty, however, lots of what happens is quite believable and is also portrayed in a more realistic light.

ER: The Complete Tenth Season contains the 22 episodes from that year, with particular highlights being the helicopter incident and an episode with a blind man.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer £9.99

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Three    Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Four    Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Seven

Buffy The Vampire Slayer started life off as a fairly average feature-length film way back in 1992, but morphed into a very good TV series in 1997. Sarah Michelle Gellar starred as the vampire hunter who took names and kicked ass, along with her friends (affectionately known as the "Scooby Gang").

CD-WOW have seasons three, four, and seven available for £9.99 each - good news if you’re looking to complete your collection, or just get a boxset of watchable TV.

Those of you looking to get the complete boxset might be interested to know that Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete Collection is still £64.97 at Amazon.

Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Collection £34.99

Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Collection

Jeremy Brett’s portrayal of Sherlock Holmes is considered by some to be the definitive screen version of the famous detective, but, as you can imagine, there’s also some who dispute this (for the record, I think he probably is the best thus far).

Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Collection contains the full 41 investigations from the nine series’ that include The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, The Return Of Sherlock Holmes, The Casebook Of Sherlock Holmes, and The Memoirs Of Sherlock Holmes.

HMV are selling this boxset for £34.99 - click here for more details.

Hustle: Seasons One To Four £21.97

Hustle: Seasons One To Four

The BBC quite often produce bad television (Bonekickers, EastEnders, My Family, etc.), but they also sometimes actually make something worth watching - which is the case with Hustle.

Inside the Hustle: Seasons One To Four boxset you’ll find all 24 episodes of the comedy drama series about a group of thieves that have been made so far. A fifth season should be airing at some point next year, by the way.

The Simpsons £9.99

The Simpsons: The Complete First Season    The Simpsons: The Complete Second Season    The Simpsons: The Complete Third Season

The Simpsons: The Complete Sixth Season

The Simpsons was excellent until around the tenth season, and it’s started to go downhill a bit since then. I don’t know what happened, but I suppose that the pressure of coming up with fresh ideas after nearly 20 years must be increasingly difficult.

At the moment you can pick up the first three seasons, or the sixth season, for £9.99 each from CD-WOW.

Alien Vs Predator: Collector’s Boxset (Blu-Ray) £17.95

The Alien Vs Predator: Collector's Boxset (Blu-Ray) contains two cheap DVDs

Separately, the Alien and Predator franchises have gone from great to average - when combined, they’ve stunk the place up worse than a room full of skunks. That being said, if you’re a fan of no-brainer action films with lots of death and explosions, you’ll probably get some enjoyment out of both Alien Vs Predator films.

The Alien Vs Predator: Collector’s Boxset, on Blu-Ray, contains both average movies and a whole host of bonus material. Both look absolutely fantastic picture-wise, and the sound is top-drawer as well.

Zavvi have this set available for £17.95 - for more information, click here.

Long Way Round: The Complete Series - Special Edition £5.99

Long Way Round: The Complete Series - Special Edition

The Sky One series Long Way Round is an excellent documentary about Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s travels around the world on the back of motorbikes. McGregor can be a little nauseating at times, but he is an actor I suppose!

Long Way Round: The Complete Series - Special Edition is a three disc set that contains extended versions of the episodes shown on TV. There’s also interviews with the creator and team behind the programme, and some other information on what it takes to do such a challenge yourself.

Fonejacker From £7.99

Fonejacker: Series One

With all the current nonsense surrounding Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, it’s perhaps seeing how other comedians go about doing prank calls without turning the whole country against them - like in Fonejacker.

The six episodes that make up Fonejacker: Series One can be found on the DVD, alongside the pilot episode and 2006 alternative Christmas message.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £7.99 from Zavvi. It’s also part of Zavvi’s 3 for £18 offer, so you could get it for as low as £6.

Fonejacker: Series Two

The second series has only just finished airing on e4, and already it’s out on Doovdé. I have to admit I enjoyed this series more than the first, probably because there seemed to be more Terry Tibbs and Donald Donaldson.

Fonejacker: Series Two features the full six episodes, plus the Christmas Special from 2007 and an interview with the man behind the mask.
