A sitcom set in both a house and a junkyard with the two main characters being rag and bone men sounds as exciting as watching paint dry, but Steptoe & Son is quite often very funny. It’s interesting to note that the two actors didn’t get on in real-life, which is actually a good thing - I don’t know if it would have worked as well had they enjoyed each other’s company.

The Complete Steptoe & Son boxset contains 13 discs which hold the full running order of 58 episodes. Included in these are the rarely seen pilot, and the two Christmas Specials.

Beavis And Butt-head: The Mike Judge Collection £17.89

Beavis And Butt-head was an animated series that centered on a pair of teenagers who while away their time in sarcastic conversation, fantisising about sex and masculinity, even though they have no real-world experience with either thing. Little effort is put into anything, but they manage to survive their misadventures without series consequence.

Beavis And Butt-head: The Mike Judge Collection is a 10 disc set that contains the three previously released volumes (which hold a total of 122 episodes) and the Beavis And Butt-head Do America: Special Collector’s Edition DVD. Some episodes have been edited slightly, and most of the music videos don’t appear (although there are some 39 to be found as extra features).

American Dad! From £8.99

Yesterday we featured the American Dad!: Volumes One To Three boxset for £24.99 at HMV, and today each of the three volumes have appeared at decent prices - great news if you’re only missing one or two to complete your collection.

American Dad!: Volume One contains the first 13 episodes from the first season, along with a smattering of bonus material.

I don’t put any blame on the makers of Family Guy or American Dad!, but it’s quite annoying that we don’t get proper season releases in the UK. When you see sets labelled as "season seven" or something, chances are it isn’t the REAL season seven and is instead the seventh boxset to be released - very stupid.

American Dad!: Volume Two contains the remaining 10 episodes from the first season, and the first nine from the second season. This too has some extra features, including an uncensored audio track (swearing, etc. intact).

The last version of American Dad! you can currently get on DVD is American Dad!: Volume Three, which has the final 10 episodes from seasons two and the first nine from season three on it.

Interestingly, this set is missing an episode in the shape of "The Most Adequate Christmas Ever". I can only assume that it will either be released separately, or be included in a future boxset.

Sex And The City: The Movie - Extended Cut (Special Edition) £8.98

Sex And The City: The Movie is the feature film adaptation of the comedy series of the same name, which itself is based on a novel with a similar title. It’s about four female friends dealing with their lives as 40-somethings in New York City, and has frank discussions about romance and sexuality.

The Sex And The City: The Movie - Extended Cut (Special Edition) DVD is a double disc set that has a version of the film not seen in cinemas, with a total of six minutes of new material. There’s also a load of special features, including a commentary and other bits and pieces.

Buy Bond Get Bond Free From £7.97

In what’s becoming a yearly event, the Buy Bond Get Bond Free promotion is back - although this time it includes the double disc version of Casino Royale.

Hopefully next year the Deluxe Edition of Casino Royale will be included in it, along with the Blu-Ray releases (wishful thinking!).

Click here to complete your collection of James Bond cheap DVDs for £7.97 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £8.34 delivered) from Borders. This effectively means that you’ll be paying slightly under £4 per film, which is an incredible bargain.

American Dad!: Volumes One To Three £24.99

From the creators of Family Guy comes American Dad!, which centers on the Smith family. Father Stan is a CIA employee, who goes to great lengths in order to ensure the safety of his country - often leading to hilarious encounters with members of his own family.

The American Dad!: Volumes One To Three boxset contains the first 50 episodes of the animated comedy series, along with a whole host of extra features.

The BBC World War II Collection £64.97

World War II was an important turning point not just in the future for our country, but for the world as a whole. As such, many documentaries have been produced over the years that look into the stories behind the pictures - and The BBC World War II Collection contains many of these.

A total of 10 different series’ can be found inside, across a total of 12 discs. These are The Nazis: A Warning From History, The Road To War, Dunkirk, War Of The Century, Battle Of The Atlantic, Horror In The East, Battlefields, D-Day: Reflections Of Courage, D-Day To Berlin, and Auschwitz: Inside The Nazi State.

The Ultimate Fast Show Collection £14.98

Along with Big Train, The Fast Show is one of the best comedy sketch shows ever produced in this country. With memorable characters like Colin Hunt, Chris the Crafty Cockney, Bob Fleming, Ted and Ralph, and Swiss Toni, this is hilarious from beginning to end.

The Ultimate Fast Show Collection is a seven disc set that contains every episode from the three series’ made. Also included is an unabridged version of The Last Show Ever, and a special programme titled "You Ain’t Seen These, Right?" (which has various sketches that didn’t make it to air).

Norman Wisdom Collection £18

At the age of 93, Norman Wisdom is still with us - although it’s quite sad to learn that he has dementia, and can’t remember any of his great films. Here’s to one of Britain’s greatest comedians, who will always be remembered for his slapstick approach that influenced so many others.

The Norman Wisdom Collection contains 12 of his best works. These are Trouble In Store, One Good Turn, Man Of The Moment, Up In The World, Just My Luck, The Square Peg, Follow A Star, The Bulldog Breed, On The Beat, Stitch In Time, The Early Bird, and Press For Time.

Die Hard Quadrilogy From £14.99

If there’s one series of films that are well worth watching time and again, it’s Die Hard. The first one will eventually become a classic, the second is a decent enough action film, Die Hard With A Vengeance is quite underrated (in my opinion anyway), and the last one is very engaging - even if it’s not quite as good as the rest, it’s a lot of fun.

The Die Hard Quadrilogy contains all four action movies, although there’s no extra features to speak of.
