Angel: The Complete Collection £44.99

Angel: The Complete Collection

Spin-off shows often either end up being cancelled as they're crap (see Joey for a good example), or running out of steam (like Mork & Mindy). Angel bucked the trend though, by being both more entertaining and sometimes even getting better ratings than Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Inside the Angel: The Complete Collection boxset you'll find all 110 episodes that were made. Strange that it lasted five seasons, as I was of the mistaken belief that it was much longer than that.

Pocahontas: Musical Masterpiece Edition £6.98

Cheap DVDs like the Pocahontas: Musical Masterpiece Edition are well worth adding to your collection

Although it's something you don't particularly think about when you're younger, it does seem surprising that almost all of the animated Disney classics are basically musicals – though I suppose that the excellent animation and stories help disguise this fact somewhat.

Anyway, this Pocahontas: Musical Masterpiece Edition DVD contains an extended version of the 1995 film (two performances of "If I Never Knew You" are added) along with hours of bonus material.

Red Cliff: The Special Edition (Blu-Ray) £9.98

Red Cliff: The Special Edition (Blu-Ray)

Red Cliff is an epic Chinese film based on the Battle Of Red Cliffs and other events during the end of the Han Dynasty, immediately prior to the period of the the Three Kingdoms in ancient China. With an estimated budget of $80 million, it's also the most expensive Asian-financed movie of all-time.

The Red Cliff: The Special Edition, on Blu-Ray, is a double disc set which comes with both parts of the film in glorious high definition. Also included are a "making of" featurette and an interview with director John Woo.

Nature’s Great Events (Blu-Ray) £12.97

Nature's Great Events (Blu-Ray)

Nature's Great Events is a wildlife documentary series that looks at how seasonal changes powered by the sun cause shifting weather patterns and ocean currents, which in turn create the conditions for some of the planet's most spectacular wildlife events.

With stunning picture and sound quality, this high definition release is an excellent example of the power of new technology to blow you away – definitely something you can use as a reference to show any doubters that this is the future.

John Adams £13.97

John Adams

John Adams is a 2008 American mini-series which chronicles most of President John Adams' political life, and his role in the founding of the United States. Paul Giamatti has the lead role – winning a bagful of awards for a very good performance indeed.

This three disc set contains all seven feature-length episodes, although I'm unable to confirm whether or not there are any extra features included – I don't think there are (though I could be/probably am wrong).

Layer Cake, Snatch, And Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels Triple Pack £5.16

Layer Cake, Snatch, And Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels Triple Pack

Where once the British film industry was regarded as one of the best of its kind in the world, we're now left with almost nothing of interest. Still, at least there's been a few decent gangster movies made here recently – anything's better than such crap as the awful Fat Slags film that came out a while ago.

This Layer Cake, Snatch, and Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels triple pack is a good example of three movies that show how to do the British gangster genre justice. Vinnie Jones is amazingly quite good in his Lock Stock role as well, believe it or not.

The World Is Not Enough (Blu-Ray) £8.49

The World Is Not Enough (Blu-Ray) contains a couple of cheap DVDs

While often being criticised as one of the worst James Bond films ever made, The World Is Not Enough isn't actually as bad as you'd think – it's certainly nowhere near as awful as Die Another Day (apologies to Pierce Brosnan who was in both, it wasn't his fault both sucked!).

Anyway, this high definition release looks brilliant and sounds equally as good too. Extra features are included by the truckload as well, with pretty much everything found on the Special Edition standard DVD version.

The Damned United £6.93

The Damned United

The Damned United is adapted from David Peace's best-selling novel of the same name, which is a largely fictional piece based on his interpretation of Brian Clough's 44 days in charge at Leeds United – whose family weren't particularly happy about the negative portrayal of one of the greatest managers this country has ever seen.

This DVD also comes with a collection of very interesting bonus material, including an audio commentary, four featurettes on the making of the movie and the real man himself, and some deleted scenes.
