Joe 90 was another creation of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, the team behind such classic series’ as Thunderbirds and Stingray. This show concerned the adventures of a nine year old boy called Joe McClaine, who has special glasses that allow him to take on extraordinary powers.

Inside the Joe 90: The Complete Series five disc boxset you’ll find all 30 episodes, along with a plethora of bonus material. It’s just a pity that neither of the Andersons returned to provide a commentary or insight into how the programme was made.

The Snowman And Father Christmas Double Pack £4.99

Every Christmas you can guarantee three things - sleep after turkey, Noel Edmonds, and Channel 4 showing both The Snowman and Father Christmas. This isn’t a bad thing though, as all are great (except Noel Edmonds, who is inherently evil).

Both animated films are excellent for kids of all ages, and adults will more than likely enjoy watching them for the millionth time as well.

Citizen Smith: Series Three And Four £7.99

John Sullivan is best known as the creator of Only Fools And Horses, but before that he was the writer on BBC sitcom Citizen Smith. Robert Lindsay (of My Family fame) stars as a Marxist revolutionary living in Tooting, who is too lazy to do anything with his life.

The Citizen Smith: Series Three And Four boxset contains the final 15 episodes, although sadly there’s no extra features to speak of.

History buffs who have Sky will no doubt be aware of The History Channel, which shows a range of programmes on some quite interesting subjects. They also air Ice Road Truckers in the UK - a guilty passion of mine!

Warriors (The History Channel) is a three disc set that contains three different documentaries. One looks at Boadicea, another at Ivan The Terrible, and the last is about Attila The Hun.

The Ultimate Ronnie Barker Collection £39.99

One thing us British do well is comedy, and Ronnie Barker is one of the all-time greats. Whether working with Ronnie Corbett in the excellent The Two Ronnies or by himself in other shows, Barker’s work will still be looked back on with great fondness in the future.

The Ultimate Ronnie Barker Collection is a huge 12 disc set that contains many of his best-loved series’. In it you’ll find every episode of Seven Of One, Porridge, Open All Hours, Going Straight, The Magnificent Evans, and Clarence.

Catweazle: The Complete Series £10.89

The very idea that a show about a smelly old tramp who claims he’s a wizard would be popular sounds mad, but Catweazle was huge in the 70s. Surprisingly there were only ever two seasons produced, even though its popularity spread right across Europe.

Catweazle: The Complete Series contains the full 26 episodes, plus there’s audio commentaries and an exclusive documentary which reunites the cast for the first time in many years.

Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps: Series One To Six £24.98

Good comedies come and go, but still Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps manages to survive. This show is set in Runcorn and revolves around the lives of a group of twentysomethings, the most recognisable of which are Ralf Little and Will Mellor.

The Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps: Series One To Six boxset contains the first 54 episodes and the Christmas Special from 2003, which is actually a musical.

Alien And Predator Total Destruction Collection £17.99

Lets not beat around the bush here - the last decent film to come out of the Alien and Predator franchises was probably Predator 2, and even it was a bit average. That being said, I don’t think anyone can resist watching any of the movies that came after it purely to see how people end up dead (I’m just being honest!).

The Alien And Predator Total Destruction Collection contains every film from both franchises, and also includes the two dreadful Alien Vs Predator outings.

Little Britain: Series One To Three £8.99

Even though Little Britain has gone downhill quite rapidly now (the US version has been incredibly poor, if you ask me), in the early days it had some very good laugh out loud moments.

Relive them with the Little Britain: Series One To Three boxset, which contains a total of 20 episodes. There’s also quite an extensive list of bonus material included, such as an audio commentary by Matt Lucas and David Walliams and deleted scenes.
