If you’ve only ever seen the big-screen version of Transformers, you’ve been missing out big time! The animated adventures of the Autobots and Decepticons enthralled legions of children in the 80s, and probably some adults as well.

The Transformers: Complete Generation One Collection boxset contains all 98 episodes and Transformers: The Movie - Reconstructed. There’s also a movie poster included as well.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season One £11.97

I’m not personally a fan of any of the Star Trek series’, but I have to admit that the small amount of Star Trek: The Next Generation that I did see was surprisingly entertaining. Perhaps I should invest in the season boxsets…

Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital £4.93

Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital is a mini-series based on the Danish mini-series The Kingdom, and is the first written and produced by the horror author. It tells the terrifying story of a hospital that houses a bizarre population of different characters.

The DVD set contains all thirteen 40 minute episodes, along with some bonus material that looks into how the series was made.

Bo Selecta!: Volume Three - Limited Collector’s Edition £4.99

I personally find Leigh Francis much funnier in Bo Selecta than in anything else he’s done since, including the awful Keith Lemon nonsense. Although the rubber masks were quite poor in quality, this helped make the sketches that bit funnier, in my opinion anyway.

The Bo Selecta!: Volume Three - Limited Collector’s Edition DVD set contains the nine episodes that make up the third and final series, and also has the "Ho Ho Ho Selecta!" Christmas Special as well.

Monster: Special Edition £1.96

Charlize Theron won an Academy Award for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster. She was a former prostitute who was executed in 2002 for murdering seven men in the late 80s and early 90s (Wuornos that is, not Theron!).

The Monster: Special Edition DVD comes with an audio commentary, deleted scenes, and two extensive documentaries - one of which is a UK exclusive.

Peppa Pig: The Peppa Collection £29.99

Peppa Pig is a UK animated kids show about a family of pigs who have some human characteristics, but who keep the traits associated with the animals on which they are based. This has gone on to become a success around the world, emulating such other kids favourites as Teletubbies and The Tweenies.

Peppa Pig: The Peppa Collection contains all 104 episodes made so far, including the forthcoming Cold Winter Day release which comes with a special Christmas episode exclusive to DVD.

Family Guy: Complete Seasons One To Six £45

Although The Simpsons has been running longer, I would say that Family Guy is now the premier cartoon comedy show on TV. Some have criticised it for having very obvious jokes, but I still reckon it’s head and shoulders above the competition - and who really cares if jokes are obvious or not anyway?!?

The Family Guy: Complete Seasons One To Six boxset contains the first 90 episodes, alongside the Family Guy: Uncovered compilation of uncensored episodes and extra features.

Pop in to your nearest Tesco and pick up this set for £45.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Special Edition £3

Tim Burton is known for his quirky and often dark filmwork, in both the live-action and stop-motion animation arenas. The Nightmare Before Christmas falls into the second category and tells the story of Jack Skellington, a being from "Halloween Town" who opens a portal to "Christmas Town".

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Special Edition DVD comes with some interesting special features, such as a couple of Burton’s early works and an audio commentary. This shouldn’t be confused with the newer Collector’s Edition (which is still available for £7.49 as part of the HMV October sale).

The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection £11.89

The Alien and Predator movies are all pretty good (although Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are a bit poo), so it was disappointing that Alien Vs Predator turned out to be incredibly average. The sequel to that film was even worse, so be thankful that it’s not included in this set!

The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection contains all four Alien movies and the two Predator outings, as well as the aforementioned Alien Vs Predator travesty.

Murphy’s Law: Series One To Five £17.89

Murphy’s Law is a BBC drama series, based on Northern Irish author Colin Bateman’s novel of the same name, that stars James Nesbitt as undercover police officer Tommy Murphy.
