Raffles: The Complete Series £14.84

Ernest William Hornung wrote a few stories about a gentlemen thief in late Victorian London, and these help make up the episodes produced of Raffles (the name coming from the title character, AJ Raffles).

All 14 hour-length installments can be found in the Raffles: The Complete Series boxset, alongside some banal extras. I say banal because they’re all text-based, which seems like a missed opportunity to me.

The Bank Job £7

The Bank Job is a crime film based on the real-life Baker Street robbery, which took place in London in 1971. The producers allege that the story was prevented from being told because of a gagging order, but it’s difficult to tell how much is historical fact due to the amount of fictional elements used.

The DVD comes with the now-standard special features, including deleted scenes and an audio commentary. This also has a two-part featurette on the premiere, but it’s a little "fluffy".

The Dirty Harry Collection: Ultimate Collector’s Edition £17.99

"Go ahead, make my day" is often attributed to the first film in the Dirty Harry series, but it actually appears in Sudden Impact. With rumors of one final outing for Harry Callahan, The Dirty Harry Collection: Ultimate Collector’s Edition boxset is well worth checking out in case they ever get round to it.

This seven disc boxset contains the movies Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and The Dead Pool. There’s also countless hours of bonus material, which ranges from a feature-length documentary to audio commentaries on each film.

The Terminator: Definitive Edition £3.80

The Terminator introduced the world to the concept of a seemingly unstoppable cyborg assassin who is sent back through time to fulfil a mission. He must kill Sarah Connor whose future son leads the resistance against the machines, and who is currently being protected by Kyle Reese (who has also come from the future).

The Terminator: Definitive Edition is a double disc set that comes packed with special features, including extensive documentaries and deleted scenes.

The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection £11.94

As a sucker for action films, the Alien and Predator franchises both rank highly in my guilty pleasure list. Although hopes where high that combining the two would make for great cinema, the results have left a lot to be desired thus far.

The Ultimate Alien And Predator Collection contains all four Alien films, the two Predator movies, and Alien Vs Predator.

In the long list of decent British comedy shows from the past, Only Fools & Horses is quite possibly in the top five best ever - maybe not as good as Blackadder or Fawlty Towers, but definitely hilarious.

Only Fools & Horses: The Complete Collection is a huge 26 disc set that contains ever episode from all seven series’ (plus the 16 Specials that were made as well). I should point out that some of these have been edited, for reasons known only to the BBC.

Benny Hill was a great comedian for many years, but it’s his work during the 70s which stands out the most. The combination of farce, risqué jokes, and beautiful ladies probably helped cement him as one of the best of all time.

Robin Williams is known for his comedy roles in films like Mrs Doubtfire and Night At The Museum, but he also has a few serious movies under his belt as well. One of these is One Hour Photo.

It tells the story of a depressing mini-lab photo tech living in a suburb of Los Angeles, who becomes obsessed with a family that regularly visit the store where he works. Over time he begins to stalk them, leading to a shocking discovery…
