The Usual Suspects (Blu-Ray) £7.22

The Usual Suspects (Blu-Ray)

The Usual Suspects tells the story of a small-time con man who is the subject of a police interrogation. He tells his interrogator a convoluted story about events leading to a massacre and massive fire that have just taken place on a ship – using flashback and narration, his story becomes increasingly complex as he tries to explain why he and his partners-in-crime where on the boat.

Although there are absolutely no special features to speak of, the film has never looked or sounded as good as it does in high definition. Still would have been nice to get some of the stuff from the Special Edition DVD though…

CD-WOW are selling The Usual Suspects, on Blu-Ray, for £7.22 – click here for more details on this cheap DVDs' availability.

Kath and Kim: The Complete First and Second Series £8.99

Kath and Kim: The Complete First and Second Series

Australia was never really the first place that would come to mind when thinking of places where decent comedy comes from, but in recent years this has been very much the case – Summer Heights High and Kath an Kim are just two examples of such shows.

The Kath and Kim: The Complete First and Second Series boxset contains the first 16 episodes of the programme about a dysfunctional mother and daughter. Sadly there's no sign of any extra features, but you can't have everything I suppose!

One Tree Hill: The Complete Sixth Season £17.99

One Tree Hill: The Complete Sixth Season

Although it's still regarded as a teen drama series One Tree Hill has been on our screens four about seven years now, making them more like young adults than teenagers (the cast has basically stayed the same, you see). Anyway, for a time this was overshadowed by The O.C. – only this is still running whilst The O.C. was canned a couple of years ago, which says a lot really.

Inside the One Tree Hill: The Complete Sixth Season you'll find the last 24 episodes that were aired in this country. Also included are audio commentaries on selected installments, some short featurettes on the making of the show, and a handful of deleted scenes.

This Is Spinal Tap: Up To 11 Edition – Limited Marshall Amp (Blu-Ray) £44.99

This Is Spinal Tap: Up To 11 Edition - Limited Marshall Amp (Blu-Ray)

If there's ever a film that needs little or no introduction, it's This Is Spinal Tap. Considered by many to be not only one of the best comedies of all time, but the best mockumentary ever made as well, its satirical look at the madness of rock bands is as relevant today as it was 25 years ago.

The This Is Spinal Tap: Up To 11 Edition – Limited Marshall Amp set, on Blu-Ray, is ever so slightly different from the other high definition release. This comes with the soundtrack CD, plus there's a fully working Marshall amp included as well (hence the name).

Rise of the Footsoldier (Blu-Ray) £4.47

Rise of the Footsoldier (Blu-Ray)

Based on the true story of the Rettendon murders and the biography of Carlton Leach, a former football hooligan, Rise of the Footsoldier is a very powerful and hard-hitting British gangster film – sadly there's no sign of Danny Dyer in it though, which will come as a disappointment to his millions of fans…

The picture and sound quality of this high definition release are as good as you'd expect, plus you also get all of the bonus material from the double disc DVD version. This includes and audio commentary, a "making of" featurette, deleted scenes and an interview with the real Carlton Leach.

Click here to buy Rise of the Footsoldier, on Blu-Ray, for £4.47 from Tesco. Certainly one of those cheap DVDs that will go down well with fans of the genre, or even those of us who like to see decent homegrown movies.
