Jurassic Park Trilogy Steelbook £7.93

Jurassic Park Trilogy Steelbook

The Jurassic Park trilogy has gone down in history as one of the most successful franchises of all time, mainly down to the fact that most of us have wondered what it would be like if dinosaurs still roamed the Earth I suppose (terrifying, and often dangerous I'd imagine).

Inside the Jurassic Park Trilogy Steelbook boxset you'll find Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III contained within a fake steel box. Also included are a range of special features looking at the making of the movies, plus some other short bits and pieces.

Apollo 13, Charlie Wilson’s War and Philadelphia Triple Pack £3.99

Apollo 13, Charlie Wilson's War and Philadelphia Triple Pack

Tom Hanks is unquestionably one of the most reliable actors around – he doesn't always hit a home run (The Da Vinci Code was a bit pants), but more often than not puts in a memorable performance that can sometimes even overshadow a poor script.

This Apollo 13, Charlie Wilson's War and Philadelphia triple pack features the great man in three excellent films. Apollo 13 and Philadelphia are known and loved by many, though Charlie Wilson's War is quite underrated in my opinion.

The Perfect Storm (Blu-Ray) £5.97

The Perfect Storm (Blu-Ray)

The Perfect Storm is a film adapted from the Sebastian Junger novel of the same name which follows the true story of a "perfect storm" that hit North America in October 1991 – and the fishing boats which were unfortunately caught in the middle of it…

Being that the movie is visually stunning, its transfer to high definition means it looks and sounds better than ever. Also included are an extensive set of extra features, such as three audio commentaries and a featurette on the real story.

Tesco have The Perfect Storm, on Blu-Ray, available for £5.97 – for more information, click here.

X-Men 2 (Blu-Ray) £3.97

X-Men 2 (Blu-Ray)

While it's still unclear whether or not there will be another full-cast X-Men film, we can at least be thankful for the first two – X-Men: The Last Stand was pretty bad though, to be honest. X-Men 2 is probably the best one made as well, mainly down to a great story and some equally brilliant action scenes.

With top quality picture and sound, this high definition version of the movie is the best release yet. On the disc you'll also find a couple of audio commentaries as well, which is nice.

Click here to get X-Men 2, on Blu-Ray, for £3.97 from Tesco.

The Eye Trilogy £6.99

The Eye Trilogy

The Eye is an Asian horror film about a blind girl who has an eye cornea transplant which leads her to have inexplicable and chilling encounters with mysterious strangers. Sadly a Hollywood remake was released in 2008 – just try to pretend that it never happened (it's better that way).

Inside The Eye Trilogy boxset you'll find the 2002 original, plus The Eye 2 and The Eye 10. Whilst maybe not as good as the first one, these two sequels are much better than some of the stuff we get subjected to in the West…

Play.com are selling this for £6.99 – click here for more details.

Back to the Future Trilogy Steelbook £7.93

The Back to the Future Trilogy Steelbook boxset contains four cheap DVDs

Even though the first one is over 20 years old, each of the Back to the Future films are still very watchable – especially Part II, which I think is often overlooked when arguments are made for sequels that were better or equal to the original (maybe not The Godfather: Part II standard, but still excellent).

Inside the Back to the Future Trilogy Steelbook you'll find all three movies, along with a ton of bonus material such as documentaries on the making of the films and multiple featurettes. This is all found inside a slim steel case, hence it being called a "steelbook".

It’s A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie £1.99

It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie isn't one of the best cheap DVDs ever made

In terms of Muppet films, It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie isn't quite as good as their other holiday attempt, A Muppet Christmas Carol, but kids while still love it – I mean, who can possibly resist Kermit The Frog when you're three?!?

The DVD is very much a bare-bones release, with just a small selection of deleted scenes on offer. When you consider the amount of talent in the film (Whoopi Goldberg and William H. Macy being just two of the stars), this is a little disappointing.

The Ultimate Bourne Collection £6.95

The Ultimate Bourne Collection

Each of the Bourne films made so far have been of an excellent standard, so here's hoping that if a fourth one does appear (as has been rumored) that it's just as good – as long as most of the main characters return, I'm sure it will be.

Inside The Ultimate Bourne Collection boxset you'll find copies of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. There's also some short featurettes and deleted scenes to be found as well.

Play.com have this set available for £6.95 – for more information, click here.

Panasonic BD60EB Blu-Ray Player (With Eight Blu-Rays) £152.97

Panasonic BD60EB Blu-Ray Player (With Eight Blu-Rays)

When Blu-Ray won the battle of the two high definition formats, leaving the (in my opinion) superior HD-DVD in the dust, many were hopeful that it would take off in much the same way as DVD did – this hasn't happened quite yet, but I'm sure that the forthcoming digital switchover might tempt more into the market.

The Panasonic BD60EB Blu-Ray player is well worth considering if you fancy dipping your toe in the water, especially considering the fantastic deal that Amazon have running at the moment.

Click here to get a Panasonic BD60EB Blu-Ray player, with eight Blu-Rays, for £152.97. You choose one title from the link, whilst the remaining seven are claimed by post (click here for more details on how to do this).

Heroes: Complete Seasons One to Three £39.95

Heroes: Complete Seasons One to Three

While it's safe to say that even the most rabid Heroes fan would have to admit that the series is nowhere near as good as it used to be, there's no denying that it is still head and shoulders above other programmes in the science fiction genre – Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell and Ali Larter are all easy on the eye too, which probably helps things…

Anyway, the Heroes: Complete Seasons One to Three boxset contains a whopping 17 discs which hold the first 59 episodes of the show. Also included are a wide range of special features, from multiple audio commentaries through to deleted scenes and featurettes.

If you fancy this set, click here to buy it for £39.95 from Play.com.
