Happy Feet (HD-DVD)

Happy Feet is an animated comedy-drama musical film about a group of penguins. In the great nation of Emperor Penguins you’re nothing if you can’t sing, which is a shame for Mumble as he is the worst singer in the world…thankfully he can tap dance though!

This is an HD-DVD release, so please make sure that you can play these kind of discs before making a purchase.

Ultimate Rambo Collection (Blu-Ray) £38.93

Ultimate Rambo Collection (Blu-Ray)

If you’re a fan of action films, then you’re sure to know and love the Rambo series. Even if the titles are a little confusing (the first one’s called First Blood and the fourth one’s called Rambo), the non-stop violence is enough to satisfy anyone’s lust for big explosions and multiple kills.

The Ultimate Rambo Collection, on Blu-Ray, contains all four of the movies made so far. I say "so far" as apparently there’s a couple more in the works - will they be as good as the last one though?

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £38.93 from Asda.

Carry On Collection £29.95

Carry On Collection

Even though it’s been some time since the last Carry On film was made (discounting the horrendous Carry On Columbus from 1992 as it was shit), their popularity has never really gone down all that much.

The Carry On Collection contains 18 of the best movies in the series, as well as the full Carry On Laughing sitcom. There’s also an audio commentary, documentaries, and interviews to be found.

The West Wing: The Complete Series £49.98

The West Wing: The Complete Series

As far as political dramas go, The West Wing is probably the best that’s ever been made. This US TV series is set in the West Wing of the White House, which is where the Oval Office and senior presidential staff offices are to be found, during the fictional Democratic administration of Jed Bartlet.

All 154 episodes ever made can be found in the huge 44 disc The West Wing: The Complete Series boxset. Also included are a couple of bonus discs full of bonus material.

Amazon are selling this set of cheap DVDs for £49.98 - click here for more details.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete First Season From £15.89

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete First Season

Because of the writer’s strike, the first year of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles only had nine episodes. That being said, these were better than some other shows which had longer runs - Prison Break comes to mind, as its third season was awful.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete First Season has all these installments on it, as well as a deleted scene. The Blu-Ray version has more extra features, including audio commentaries and additional deleted scenes.

Click here to buy the standard DVD release for £15.89 from Blah DVD, or click here to get the Blu-Ray version for £16.80 from 101 CD.

Teachers: The Complete Series £24.93

Teachers: The Complete Series

Teachers was a comedy-drama that followed a group of secondary school teachers, and over time we see that they are just as immature as their pupils. The first series centered around the character Simon Casey, but the rest were more balanced (probably because the cast changed quite often).

Teachers: The Complete Series contains every episode from all four series’, as well as a couple of featurettes looking at how the show was made.

Laurel & Hardy: The Collection £29.99

Laurel & Hardy: The Collection contains a whopping 21 cheap DVDs

Some modern comedy is funny, but to me the classic stuff always seems that little bit better. I suppose I could be in the minority, but everyone enjoys a laugh now and again - and what better way to do this than by spending some time with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Laurel & Hardy: The Collection is a mammoth 21 disc set containing much of their best work, fully re-mastered and some even included in colour as well.

Instore at Zavvi you can get this for the crackers price of only £29.99. This, together with Friends: The One With All Ten Seasons, means that Zavvi have gone a little made on the old price gun.

Battlestar Galactica: Season Four £17.99

Battlestar Galactica: Season Four

Battlestar Galactica fans will be wondering how exactly the fourth season can be coming out on DVD, when not all of the episodes have been screened yet. Well, there’s an explanation for that…it’s technically a half-season release.

The Battlestar Galactica: Season Four boxset will contain the 10 installments screened so far (the writer’s strike halted the final episodes being shown), as well as the Battlestar Galactica: Razor TV movie.

CD-WOW have this up for preorder at £17.99 - for more information, click here.

The Wombles: Complete Collection £7.93

The Wombles: Complete Collection

Any child of the late 60s will more than likely remember The Wombles, not just for the stop motion animated series but for the ridiculously catchy theme song as well. Their "green" message was very ahead of its time as well, when you consider all of the current doom and gloom about the environment.

All 60 episodes from the original two series’ that were produced are contained in The Wombles: Complete Collection. It wasn’t until 1996 that they would return to our screens, save for a couple of specials in the early 90s.
