The Shield is a American drama series which has proved controversial for its depiction of police officers as corrupt. Interestingly enough, it's based on a real-life scandal in the 70's – where the anti-gang unit of the LAPD were implicated in a wide range of illegal activity.

Inside The Shield: Deluxe Edition boxset you'll find all 88 episodes. There are also a fair few extra features included, but please note that the final installment of season five has been cut quite a bit (no idea why though).

Ultimate Force: The Complete Series is an eight disc set that contains all 21 feature-length episodes from the four series' that were produced. There are also documentaries looking at the making of the first three years, although the fourth oddly doesn't have anything (ITV didn't air the complete final series for some time, so I presume they pretty much washed their hands of the whole thing).

Some modern comedy is funny, but to me the classic stuff always seems that little bit better. I suppose I could be in the minority, but everyone enjoys a laugh now and again – and what better way to do this than by spending some time with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Laurel and Hardy: The Collection is a mammoth 21 disc set containing much of their best work, fully re-mastered and some even included in colour as well – though purists will ultimately prefer the original black and white versions.

The Warlords £1.99


The Warlords is an award-winning Chinese/Hong Kong epic war film set in the 1860s, during the Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty in China and centres on the sworn brotherhood of three men. After winning a host of awards in Asia, this has managed to prove popular on this side of the world as well – mainly down to an excellent performance from Jet Li and some stunning battle scenes.

This double disc set contains the feature-length movie, along with hours of bonus material. These include a documentary on the making of the film, two featurettes looking at the real-life conflict and a collection of deleted scenes.
