Stephen King is rightly regarded as one of the best horror writers of all time, and his work really does speak for itself. Both The Shining and The Shawshank Redemption are film adaptations of his novels, and we all know how popular they are.

The Stephen King Collection contains six mini-series’ which are also adapted from some of his novels. Included are Diary Of Ellen Rimbauer, It, Rose Red, Salem’s Lot (the 1979 version), The Shining (not the Jack Nicholson one), and Storm Of The Century.

Tom And Jerry Classic Collection: Volumes One To Six £16.98

The Internet is a great place to buy stuff, as prices can be quite a bit lower than you would find on the high street. However these same prices sometimes go up and down like a yo-yo, which is the case with the Tom And Jerry Classic Collection: Volumes One To Six boxset.

It contains almost all of the original cartoons ever made across six discs, although I should mention that some have been edited due to perceived racism and controversy (these only amount to close-ups and sound edits though).

Sleeper Cell: Season One £3.89

Even though the excellent drama series Sleeper Cell only lasted two years, there’s apparently hope that it may return for one-off events (in the same way that Prime Suspect has returned). The first season was about an FBI agent who was assigned to infiltrate a terrorist cell who planned to attack Los Angeles.

The installments that make up this first year are all included in the Sleeper Cell: Season One boxset, along with audio commentaries and deleted scenes.

The IT Crowd: Series One & Two £10.99

Channel 4 could be considered the home of original British comedy with hits like Peep Show and the still much-loved Father Ted. The IT Crowd is another popular series, focusing on the three person team that makes up the IT department at a fictitious corporation (who once made part-year profits of "eighteen hundred billion billion").

The IT Crowd: Series One & Two boxset includes the 12 episodes made so far. Also of note are the way that the DVD menus are designed, picking up on popular Internet rubbish and classic computer games.

Friends: The One With All Ten Seasons £49.99

With the recent Sex And The City movie proving that successful TV shows can transfer well to the big screen, I’m sure the calls for a Friends film will become even louder. Quite whether it would be any good or not will depend on if all the cast return and a decent script is written - Jean-Calude Van Damme returning would be nice as well!

Friends: The One With All Ten Seasons is the complete collection of all 236 episodes, across 30 discs. There’s also some bonus material, including extended episodes and featurettes.

What’s New Scooby-Doo?: The Complete Collection £33.97

The ninth incarnation of Scooby-Doo is actually a revival of the original series made way back in 1960, Scooby-Doo Where Are You! What’s New Scooby-Doo? also marks the return of the hungry hound and his chums to our screens after an eleven year absence.

A total of 42 cartoons were produced, and each of them can be found in What’s New Scooby-Doo?: The Complete Collection.

Charmed: The Ultimate Boxset £99

Charmed is a US supernatural drama series that ran for eight seasons, and told the story of three sisters who are the world’s most powerful good witches. Each have unique magical powers that grow as they get older which come in handy when fighting the beasts living in San Francisco.

Charmed: The Ultimate Boxset is due out towards the end of October, and will contain every episode ever made across a whopping 48 discs. There’s bound to be a ton of special features included as well.

Doctor Who: The Complete Third Series £29.99

When Christopher Eccleston announced he was leaving Doctor Who after only one year, many wondered how good his replacement would be. Thankfully, David Tennant has been more than up to the job - in fact, his is possibly one of the best portrayals of the character yet.

The 13 episodes that make up the third year are all contained in the Doctor Who: The Complete Third Series boxset, as is the 2006 Christmas Special "The Runaway Bride".

The Shield: Seasons One And Six From £10.49

The controversial portrayal of corrupt police officers has helped police drama series The Shield become one of the best shows to come out of the US. The Strike Team use many illegal and unethical methods to maintain peace on the streets, whilst making money through illegal drug protection schemes and robbery.

To ease you into it, The Shield: The Complete First Season contains the first 13 episodes for you to enjoy at leisure. There’s also a number of extra features included as well.

After the seventh season has finished airing at the end of November, it won’t be returning for an eighth. I suppose there’s an outside chance of one-off episodes being made in the future, but it’s far too early to tell.

The Shield: The Complete Sixth Season has 10 more hard-hitting installments. I would recommend that you catch season five before watching this one, as the stories overlap somewhat.

Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series Plus The Ark Of Truth £92.97

Although the Stargate film is regarded as being a bit average, the TV series’ that have followed it have been more warmly received. Stargate SG-1 starts off one year after the events in the movie, and follows the cast and crew of SG-1 as they explore the galaxy and defend the Earth from aliens.
