Fonejacker: Series Two £2.85

Fonejacker: Series Two

With all the nonsense not too long ago with Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, it's perhaps good to see how other comedians go about doing prank calls without turning the whole country against them – like in Fonejacker.

Only twelve episodes were ever made of the Channel 4 series, although for some reason it does seem as though there were more (strange that). The Fonejacker: Series Two DVD contains six installments plus a wide variety of different special features.

Viz Boxset £4.97

Viz Boxset

Don't be fooled by the look of either this DVD collection or the comic itself – Viz is very much aimed at adults, with near-enough constant references to sex and toilet humour by the truck load (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

Anyway, this Viz Boxset contains four discs featuring animated films starring some of the best characters from the comic. "Sis the Sexist", "Oh, Lordy! It's the Fat Slags: Three Saucy Adventures", "Oh, Lordy! It's the Fat Slags:Blue Honeymoon", "Roger Mellie: The Man of Tellie" and "Billy the Fish" are all pretty good in their own right.

Tesco have this available for £4.97 – for more information, click here.

A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa – Extended Edition £3.99

A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa - Extended Edition

A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa sees all of your favourite characters embark on yet another Yuletide adventure, joined by a host of famous faces – Uma Thurman and Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg being just two…

This DVD is titled A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa – Extended Edition, so I can only assume that there will be additional footage on this that wasn't included in the original broadcast (which didn't even air in this country, as far as I can tell).

The Comedy Collection £4.85

The Comedy Collection

Everybody needs a good laugh every now and again, so what better way to spend your time than with The Comedy Collection boxset? In it you'll find four very funny films from Paramount – who, funnily enough, run the Comedy Central channel (which used to be called Paramount Comedy).

Wayne's World, Zoolander, Team America: World Police and Blades Of Glory are all hilarious. However, I would have to say that Wayne's World just edges out Zoolander in the funniest stakes – Mike Myers stars in one of his best roles to date, playing the part of a sardonic long-haired metalhead who hosts his own local cable access television programme.

Sex and the City: Seasons One to Six £5.97 Each

Sex and the City: The Complete First Season contains two cheap DVDs    Sex and the City: The Complete Season Two    Sex and the City: The Complete Season Three

Sex and the City: The Complete Season Four    Sex and the City: The Complete Season Five    Sex and the City: The Final Season

Sex and the City focuses on four women who like to discuss their sexual desires and fantasies, whilst following their travels in life and love. Normally this wouldn't be such a bad thing, but I get the feeling that men wouldn't exactly be great fans of the show – although I doubt they are the intended viewers anyway (apart from certain scenes, I might add).

A total of 94 episodes were produced in total, and these have all been out on DVD for quite some time now. Sadly none of the boxsets come with any extra features, but you can't get everything in life I suppose!

Click on the corresponding boxart above to get Sex and the City: Seasons One to Six for £5.97 each from Woolworths.

James Bond: Ultimate DVD Collector’s Set £69.99

James Bond: Ultimate DVD Collector's Set

The James Bond series of films are probably the most successful franchise this side of McDonald's. With action and drama in every outing, both men and women enjoy nearly every moment – for entirely different reasons. Die Another Day is pretty bad mind you, even if Halle Berry goes some way to making it as least worth a couple of viewings.

The first 21 007 movies that have been released on home video are in the James Bond: Ultimate DVD Collector's Set. Each film comes across two discs, with the first containing the movie and a commentary – the second comes loaded with bonus material.

Click here to buy this boxset for £69.99 from Play.com. Also remember that you by using the £5 off at Play.com voucher you can get this for £64.99.

True Blood: The Complete First Season (Blu-Ray) £24.99

True Blood: The Complete First Season (Blu-Ray)

After managing to impress viewers on FX, Channel Four moved very quickly to show True Blood on terrestrial television – and for very good reason, as it's easily one of the best programmes to come out of the U.S. since Dexter (which is another HBO production that has gone down well over here).

True Blood: The Complete First Season, on Blu-Ray, contains all 12 episodes from the debut year in glorious high definition. There are also many extra features included, such as audio commentaries on six installments and various featurettes on the making of the show.

Bang CD have this available for £24.99 – for more information, click here. The same retailer still also has the DVD version of True Blood: The Complete First Season priced at £18.99, by the way.

Jimmy Carr: In Concert £3.83

Jimmy Carr: In Concert

Jimmy Carr: In Concert captures one of Britain's best stand-ups at his very best in a performance at London's Bloomsbury Theatre. Although not everybody's cup of tea, there is no denying that Carr is the master of the one-liner – at the expense of pretty much everybody in his audience…

This DVD not only comes with the full show, but some decent extra features as well. These include a specially commissioned 36 minute animated piece, nine comic strips and alternative subtitles (in Scouse, Glaswegian, Polish, Australian and Welsh!).

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £3.83 from The Hut.

Bruno (Blu-Ray) £9.93

Bruno (Blu-Ray)

Bruno is a mockumentary starring Sacha Baron Cohen as yet another one of the characters who started off life in "Da Ali G Show" – this time he's a gay Austrian fashion journalist who gets fired and decides to become "the biggest Austrian superstar since Hitler".

This high definition release has excellent picture and sound quality, as you'd expect, and also comes with all of the special features from the standard DVD version. These include an audio commentary with Sacha Baron Cohen and director Larry Charles, and some deleted scenes.

The Hut are selling Bruno, on Blu-Ray, for £9.93 – click here for more details.
