The Complete Goofy £5.99

The Complete Goofy contains two cheap DVDs

Goofy is an animated character from the Mickey Mouse universe, and is one of Mickey Mouse's best friends. Interestingly, it's still unclear what exactly he is – Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck and Pluto's a dog, so what's Goofy?!?

Anyway, The Complete Goofy is a double disc set which contains all of the cartoons involving his career, except for five that are missing for one reason or another. Also included are an audio commentary by Leonard Matlin for some of the galleries, a montage of clips, a mini-biography of the original voice behind Goofy and an interview with the present voice.

The Ultimate Vicar of Dibley Collection

The Vicar of Dibley is a British sitcom, written specifically for Dawn French, set in a fictional small Oxfordshire village which is assigned a female vicar following the 1992 changes in the Church of England that permitted the ordination of women.

Inside The Ultimate Vicar of Dibley Collection you'll find all 20 episodes ever produced. Also included are "The Real Vicars of Dibley" and "The Vicar of Dibley Story" documentaries, along with most of the Comic Relief shorts (minus the final 2007 one, for some reason).

Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics and Miss Congeniality Triple Pack £3.83

Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics and Miss Congeniality Triple Pack

It's always good to get great value for your money, so DVD boxsets have proven to be very popular since their introduction a few years ago – they also quite often work out much cheaper than videos ever did (ah, VHS, we knew ye so well!).

Anyway, this Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics and Miss Congeniality triple pack contains three films which have been tagged as "romantic classics". Whether this is an accurate statement or not is up for debate, but what I will say is that at least Miss Congeniality is halfway decent.

Year One (Blu-Ray) £10.95

Year One (Blu-Ray)

Year One is a comedy about two cavemen who stumble out of the mountains into an epic journey of biblical proportions. With Jack Black on board, and Harold Ramis directing, much was expected of this – sadly it's very average, at best, with only a handful of genuinely funny moments.

The high definition release looks and sounds brilliant, plus it comes with all of the extra features from the standard DVD version. These include two audio commentaries, deleted and alternate scenes, outtakes and a handful of featurettes on the making of the movie.

If you fancy Year One, on Blu-Ray, click here to buy it for £10.95 from MyMemory.

Gavin and Stacey: The Complete Collection £17.99

Gavin and Stacey: The Complete Collection

Gavin and Stacey is a BBC comedy-drama that initially chronicled the developing romance between the two lead characters and subsequently followed their married life – a third season is due to start on the 26th of November 2009, which will conclude the series as a whole (bar any one-off specials in the future).

The Gavin and Stacey: The Complete Collection boxset is apparently being released in December, and in it you'll find six discs which contain all 20 episodes ever made (including the Christmas special). Also to be found are a range of special features, such as audio commentaries and deleted scenes.

Sex And The City: The Essential Collection £33.97

You'll find many cheap DVDs inside the Sex And The City: The Essential Collection boxset

Women everywhere apparently love Sex And The City, and men everywhere tolerate it for the sex scenes (probably). If you've never heard of it, it's a sitcom about four females over 30 living in New York and their sex lives – although it does sometimes touch upon important issues like sexually transmitted diseases.

The film was released on DVD on the 22nd of September 2008, and on the same day this Sex And The City: The Essential Collection set also came out. The boxset contains all 92 episodes from the six series' made, plus some bonus material.

The Godfather Trilogy: The Coppola Restoration (Blu-Ray) £17.99

The Godfather Trilogy: The Coppola Restoration (Blu-Ray)

I would expect that by now, many people who even have a little bit of love for films will have seen at least one movie from The Godfather Trilogy. If you haven't, then they are crime drama films that follow the lives of the Corleone family – from their rise to power to an eventual fall from grace.

The Godfather Trilogy: The Coppola Restoration, on Blu-Ray, contains all three movies in one handy boxset. As it's a Blu-Ray release, the picture and sound have never been better – the fact that all of the bonus material from the standard DVD version is included is a nice addition too.

Band Of Brothers (Blu-Ray) £17.99

Band Of Brothers is a World War II mini-series based on the book of the same name by historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose. It centres on the experiences of Easy Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment assigned to the 101st Airborne Division – from Easy's basic training at Toccoa, Georgia, through the American airborne landings in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Bastogne and on to the end of the war.

This high definition release presents all 10 installments in glorious high definition, with top quality sound to match. You'll also find all of the extra features from the standard DVD version (of which there are far too many to list here).

If you fancy Band Of Brothers, on Blu-Ray, click here to buy it for £17.99 from Play.com.

Starship Troopers Trilogy (Blu-Ray) £9.47

Starship Troopers Trilogy (Blu-Ray)

Anyone who has seen the first Starship Troopers will tell you that it's a good example of an over-the-top action film which entertains from beginning to end – the same people will probably also tell you to avoid the other two, as they are both a bit crap.

The Starship Troopers Trilogy boxset, on Blu-Ray, contains these three movies in glorious high definition – with picture and sound quality being as fantastic as you would expect.

HMV 2 For £18 On Blu-Rays

At this very moment there is an HMV 2 for £18 on Blu-Rays offer running. To be honest, it's been on for a little while now – it's just that there was nothing to get particularly excited about.

That's all changed though, as a batch of new releases are now included. The Damned United, The Wrestler and Leon: Director's Cut are but merely scratching the surface of what you'll find.

Click here to see the full list.

UPDATE: This has now got even better – it's 2 for £18…
