Layer Cake, Snatch, And Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels Triple Pack £5.16

Layer Cake, Snatch, And Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels Triple Pack

Where once the British film industry was regarded as one of the best of its kind in the world, we're now left with almost nothing of interest. Still, at least there's been a few decent gangster movies made here recently – anything's better than such crap as the awful Fat Slags film that came out a while ago.

This Layer Cake, Snatch, and Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels triple pack is a good example of three movies that show how to do the British gangster genre justice. Vinnie Jones is amazingly quite good in his Lock Stock role as well, believe it or not.

Select Cheaper are selling this set for £5.16 – click here for more details.

The World Is Not Enough (Blu-Ray) £8.49

The World Is Not Enough (Blu-Ray) contains a couple of cheap DVDs

While often being criticised as one of the worst James Bond films ever made, The World Is Not Enough isn't actually as bad as you'd think – it's certainly nowhere near as awful as Die Another Day (apologies to Pierce Brosnan who was in both, it wasn't his fault both sucked!).

Anyway, this high definition release looks brilliant and sounds equally as good too. Extra features are included by the truckload as well, with pretty much everything found on the Special Edition standard DVD version.

The Damned United £6.93

The Damned United

The Damned United is adapted from David Peace's best-selling novel of the same name, which is a largely fictional piece based on his interpretation of Brian Clough's 44 days in charge at Leeds United – whose family weren't particularly happy about the negative portrayal of one of the greatest managers this country has ever seen.

This DVD also comes with a collection of very interesting bonus material, including an audio commentary, four featurettes on the making of the movie and the real man himself, and some deleted scenes.

Hero: Special Edition (Blu-Ray) £12.85

Hero: Special Edition (Blu-Ray)

Hero is a 2002 Chinese wuxia film which is loosely based on the legendary Jing Ke. It tells the story of a nameless warrior, portrayed by Jet Li, having a conversation with the King of Qin, and through a series of flashbacks depicts the journey he took to save the country from collapse.

This high definition version looks and sounds fantastic, plus there are some extra features to get through as well. These include three featurettes on the making of the movie, storyboards and a soundtrack promo.

Kill Bill: Volume One & Kill Bill: Volume Two Double Pack (Blu-Ray) £17.85

Kill Bill: Volume One & Kill Bill: Volume Two Double Pack (Blu-Ray)

Apparently Quentin Tarantino is getting ready to release a combined version of the two Kill Bill films – but when you consider that he's been saying this since the first one was released, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Kill Bill: Volume One & Kill Bill: Volume Two double pack, on Blu-Ray, is an excellent (and currently the only) way to be able to see both movies in stunning quality. Extras include a featurette, deleted scene, and a couple of performances from "The 5,6,7,8's".

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £17.85 from Zavvi.

Heroes: Complete Seasons One And Two (Blu-Ray) £39.95

While it's certainly nowhere near as good as the initial episodes promised it could be, Heroes is still one of the better science-fiction programmes still airing. Hayden Panettiere is very easy on the eye as well, which is always a good thing…

The Heroes: Complete Seasons One And Two boxset, on Blu-Ray, contains the first 34 installments of the show plus a huge amount of bonus material – all of which are presented in fantastically glorious high definition.

Two Blu-Rays For £17

Right at this very moment, Amazon have a two Blu-Rays for £17 offer running – although maybe not as good as some of the other deals they've had in the past, this one has some genuinely excellent titles included.

Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead, Ronin, Children Of Men, and An American Werewolf In London are but merely scratching the surface of what they have available.

Pinocchio And The Jungle Book Double Pack £9.99

The Pinocchio And The Jungle Book Double Pack contains a total of four cheap DVDs

In this day and age of technology whereby you can get films through your computer any time you wish, it's a little bit surprising that Disney still insist on retiring their movies after seven years – although I suppose it gives them opportunities in the future to milk more money from an unsuspecting public!

This Pinocchio and The Jungle Book double pack contains double disc versions of two of the best-loved films from the company, which also have far too many special features for me to list here (suffice to say, they'll take you a fair time to wade through).

Outlander (Blu-Ray) £9.98

Outlander (Blu-Ray)

Described by star Jim Caviezel as being a light combination of Braveheart and Highlander, science fiction film Outlander sees Caviezel portray a futuristic soldier who crashes on Earth in the Iron Age – bringing with him a creature of unimaginable horror…

This movie looks and sounds fantastic in high definition, plus it comes with all of the bonus material found on the standard DVD release – an audio commentary, "making of" featurette, deleted scenes, artwork galleries and lots more.

Click here to buy Outlander, on Blu-Ray, for £9.98 from Amazon.

Sin City (Blu-Ray) £9.98

Sin City (Blu-Ray)

Sin City is a film noir based on the Frank Miller graphic novel series of the same name, primarily three of his works – "The Hard Goodbye" focuses on a hulking man who embarks on a brutal rampage in search of his one-time lover's killer, "The Big Fat Kill" is about a street war between a group of prostitutes and a series of mercenaries, and "That Yellow Bastard" focuses on an aging police officer who protects a young woman from a serial killer.

This high definition release of the movie looks and sounds brilliant, and comes with two different versions. The first is the theatrical cut seen in cinemas, whilst the second runs for around 20 minutes longer (which includes edited scenes and some that have never been seen before).

Amazon have Sin City, on Blu-Ray, available for £9.98 – for more information, click here.
