The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection

After the first Pink Panther film proved very successful, a number of animated shorts were created using the character seen in the opening sequence - an actual pink panther.

124 were made between 1964 and 1980, and all of these are to be found in The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection. Additionally, the opening sequence mentioned above is included along with 37 minutes of unseen footage.

Iron Man: The Ultimate Collection From £9.97

Iron Man: The Ultimate Collection

With the recent big-screen release of Iron Man coming out on DVD soon, you might fancy getting Iron Man: The Ultimate Collection to see his previous animated outings.

This five disc set contains both the complete 1966 series The Invincible Iron Man and the complete 1994 series Iron Man. Obviously the newer series looks better, although the older one is good for its age.

Amazon are selling this boxset of cheap DVDs for £9.97 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £11.42 delivered) - for more information, click here.

The Day Today £6.99

The Day Today

Alan Partridge may have gone on to become a star in "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and "I’m Alan Partridge", but he originally started off life as a sports correspondent on the excellent comedy series The Day Today. This surreal parody of TV news programmes comes from Chris Morris of Brass Eye notoriety, so expect to be both shocked and amused at the same time.

The DVD release of The Day Today comes with the full six episodes, as well as the unseen pilot and some mini-episodes that were created the night before the original airing of each episode.

Peep Show: Series One To Five £25

Peep Show: Series One To Five

Should Peep Show be as funny as it is? Probably not, when you consider it’s essentially a show about a depressed guy and a waster - but somehow David Mitchell and Robert Webb make this one of the best comedies currently showing on our TV screens.

The Peep Show: Series One To Five boxset contains every episode shown on Channel 4 so far, as well as the usual smattering of bonus material.

Instore at HMV you can get this set for £25, which is nearly £10 cheaper than it is online.

Hancock £9.93

Hancock

Hancock sat in development hell for around 11 years before finally being released in 2007. Sadly, it’s badly let down by a weak story and poor execution - although Will Smith puts in an OK performance.

Vigilante superhero John Hancock has routinely cost the city of Los Angeles millions of dollars due to his reckless actions. After saving a public relations spokesperson called Ray Embrey, Embrey makes it his mission to change Hancock’s public image for the better…

The Ultimate Goodness Gracious Me Boxset £7.99

The Ultimate Goodness Gracious Me Boxset contains four cheap DVDs

Although some people might think that comedy sketch show Goodness Gracious Me is a bit racist, it’s my belief that those people are missing the point - this is Asian comedians exploring the conflict and integration between traditional Indian culture and modern British life.

The Ultimate Goodness Gracious Me boxset contains every episode from the three TV series’ that have been made, as well as the "Back Where They Came From" special.

WALL-E £9.89

WALL-E

Pixar have turned almost every single film they’ve produced into movies that anyone of any age can enjoy, and it comes as no surprise that WALL-E is another to do just that.

This computer-animated science fiction film follows the story of WALL-E, who is a robot that has been designed to clean up a polluted Earth. One day he discovers a seedling plant and soon afterwards a probe-like robot called EVE appears looking for sign of life - WALL-E eventually falls in love with EVE, and follows her into outer space for the adventure of a lifetime.

Sendit.com have the DVD available for preorder at £9.89 - click here for more details.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull £9.89

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

The first three Indiana Jones films are rightfully regarded as classics, but I don’t think that Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull will be quite as well remembered. This outing pits Indy against agents of the Soviet Union, in the search for a crystal skull.

Due for release on the 10th of November, the DVD will come with a whole host of extra features. Most are documentaries on how the movie was made, although it wouldn’t be surprising to see deleted scenes or perhaps a tribute to Stan Winston.

Have I Got News For You DVDs From £6.89

The Very Best Of Have I Got News For You

BBC comedy panel show Have I Got News For You has now been running for over 18 years, although it is probably fair to say that it was much better when Angus Deayton was the presenter.

The Very Best Of Have I Got News For You is a collection of the best moments from his time in the chair, and comes complete with an audio commentary and unseen footage as well as other bonus material.

If you fancy this DVD, click here to buy it for £6.99 from HMV.

Have I Got News For You: The Best Of The Guest Presenters - Volume One

Deayton was fired in October 2002 after revelations about his private life were revealed. This possibly wouldn’t have happened had panelists Ian Hislop and Paul Merton not ridiculed him mercilessly on what turned out to be his last show.

From then on guest presenters have been used, and so Have I Got News For You: The Best Of The Guest Presenters - Volume One contains some of their best moments. Also included are an extended version of the first episode to be hosted by Boris Johnson and some interviews.

Click here to buy this for the same price (£6.99) from the same retailer (HMV).

Have I Got News For You: The Best Of The Guest Presenters - Volume Two

The Have I Got News For You: The Best Of The Guest Presenters - Volume Two DVD contains four compilations of the Autumn 2003, Spring 2004, Autumn 2004, and Spring 2005 series’ rather than complete episodes.

However, there is a bonus disc which has yet another extended episode featuring Boris Johnson, and "The A To Z Of HIGNFY" which is a guide to the making of the programme.

To get this for the slightly lower price of £6.89 from Blah DVD, click here.

Kickboxer £1

Kickboxer

You always know what you’re getting with a Jean-Claude Van Damme film - lots of martial arts type stuff, and general arse-kicking galore. Kickboxer is no different, so don’t expect anything high brow or mentally stimulating.

I highly recommend getting this for just one scene - the bar dance. Van Damme’s character gets drunk and dances with two Thai women, and it looks downright funny.

See what I mean?

Pop in to your nearest Poundland and you can get this DVD for only £1.
