James Bond: The Ultimate Collector's Set

Some of the James Bond films are great, some of the James Bond films are poor (Die Another Day, take a bow) - nobody can deny that they are all worth seeing at least once. Even if it’s just to see how ridiculous the invisible car is, or Ursula Andress emerging from the sea.

James Bond: The Ultimate Collector’s Set contains all 21 movies made so far. Each are double disc releases, which means that you get tons of extra features including deleted scenes and documentaries.

HMV have this available for £64.99 - click here for more details.

Only Fools And Horses: The Complete Series One To Seven £39.99

Only Fools And Horses: The Complete Series One To Seven

It’s hard to believe that Only Fools And Horses has now been off our screens for five years. Although there’s the dreadful "The Green Green Grass" which has some of the characters from the show, it’s not a patch on its big brother.

Only Fools And Horses: The Complete Series One To Seven contains every episode made between 1981 and 1991, which means that there’s none of the Christmas specials. Sad times.

Starsky & Hutch: The Complete Collection £25.99

Starsky & Hutch: The Complete Collection

Starsky & Hutch is a US police drama series from the 70s about two cops who tear round the streets of Bay City in a red and white Ford Torino, busting evil dudes as they go. Underworld contact Huggy Bear provides the comedy relief, in the form of ridiculous outfits that would make even Jonathan Ross blush with embarrassment.

Starsky & Hutch: The Complete Collection is a huge 20 disc boxset that contains every single episode from the four seasons that were made. There’s also some bonus material to be found on selected discs.

If you fancy this set, click here to get it for £25.99 from WH Smith.

Blake’s 7: Series’ One And Two £17.97 Each

Blake's 7: The Complete Series One

Blake’s 7 was a science fiction show produced by the BBC in 1978. It was actually created by the same guy who came up with the idea for the Daleks in Doctor Who - the evil mad bastard!

Even to this day it’s held in high regard as the dark tone, moral ambiguity, and strong characterisation make it seem a bit timeless. Minus the effects which look a bit shoddy, of course.

Click here to buy Blake’s 7: The Complete Series One for £17.97 from Amazon.

Blake's 7: The Complete Series Two

It’s quite interesting comparing Blake’s 7 to Star Trek - Star Trek’s The United Federation Of Planets exert a benevolent influence on its members, whilst the Terran Federation (the Blake’s 7 equivalent) are belligerent and bullying.

Blake’s 7: The Complete Series Two contains all 13 episodes, as well as some interesting bonus material looking at how the show was made.

Alien 3 £2.99

Alien 3 is one of those cheap DVDs worth getting to see how bad the film really is

Sadly, Alien 3 turned out to be a bit of a mess - which is surprising when you see that David Fincher was directing. That’s not the full story though, as Fox executives interfered to such an extent that the finished product is some way from how he originally envisioned it.

Ripley crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet’s maximum security prison. Her fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount - Ripley must lead the men into battle without weapons or modern technology as well, which could be a bit of a hindrance.

M*A*S*H £2.99

M*A*S*H

The TV shows M*A*S*H was a huge success, but you may not be aware that it actually started life as a feature-length film starring Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould.

The dark comedy is still present, and the movie depicts an outfit of medical personnel stationed at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War much like the series did - the only difference is the cast, to be honest.

HMV have this DVD available for just £2.99 - click here for more details.

David Blaine: Mystifier £1

David Blaine: Mystifier

David Blaine is probably more known now for his silly endurance stuff (well done, you sat in a box for 44 days) than his genuine magic skills. It’s a pity, as he’s one of the best magicians in quite some time.

The David Blaine: Mystifier DVD is worth getting to see some of this talent, as it’s full of "close-up" magic. The levitating does look a bit iffy though, if you ask me.

Pop in to your local Tesco and pick this up for only £1.
