Marlon Brando Boxset £5.73

For all his demands and difficult behaviour, there’s no doubt that Marlon Brando is one of the greatest actors to have ever appeared on the big screen – from playing Superman’s dad to the legendary Vito Corleone in The Godfather, he managed to electrify audiences for over 60 years.

Inside this Marlon Brando Boxset you’ll find four of his best films. The Wild One, On The Waterfront, The Ugly American and The Appaloosa are each excellent in their own right.

Dead Like Me: Seasons One And Two £8.99 Each

Dead Like Me: The Complete First Season    Dead Like Me: The Complete Second Season

Dead Like Me is a quirky show about an 18 year old girl called George Lass. When she is hit and killed by a falling toilet seat from the MIR space station, she is bestowed with the powers of a Grim Reaper…

The first year contains all 13 episodes, as well as some decent extra features (including the unseen pilot episode). In the second series boxset you’ll find the remaining 15 installments, along with some deleted scenes and featurettes.

Click here to buy Dead Like Me: The Complete First Season for £8.99 from Play.com. The same retailer also has Dead Like Me: The Complete Second Season (click here) selling at the same price.

Lost In Space: Seasons One To Three £14.99 Each

Lost In Space: The Complete First Season    Lost In Space: The Complete Second Season    Lost In Space: The Complete Third Season

Younger viewers will probably most associate Lost In Space with the incredibly average 1998 film, but the original science fiction series was much better – plus it holds the somewhat unique distinction of being in black and white for the first year, then colour for the final two.

Each DVD boxset comes with a fair amount of bonus material, including an un-aired pilot and some classic interviews, and at least 24 episodes (which means that it will take you some time to get through).

The same retailer also has Lost In Space: The Complete Second Season (click here) and Lost In Space: The Complete Third Season (click here) at the same price – plus all three are included in their 2 for £25 promotion.

The Unit: Season Three £12.99

The Unit: Season Three

The Unit is a U.S. show about a covert Special Forces team who operate outside of the usual military chain of command. Think of it a little bit like The A-Team, but with people actually getting killed (and no montage scenes of a tank being built out of straw, or something).

Inside The Unit: Season Three boxset you’ll find all 11 episodes from the shortened third year, along with selected audio commentaries and deleted scenes. There’s also a rather length roundtable discussion with the producers included as well.

Robert De Niro Steelbook Boxset £8.91

Robert De Niro is rightly regarded as one of the best actors ever, with a catalogue of work that many others can only look at and admire. It’s probably best to forget some of his more recent stuff though, as he’s not done anything all that great in quite some time.

Anyway, this Robert De Niro Steelbook Boxset contains five top highlights from his career in a lovely tin-type thing. Cape Fear, Casino, Mean Streets, Sleepers and Taxi Driver are all worth seeing – with Taxi Driver and Casino in particular being unmissable.

Asda have this available for £8.91 – for more information, click here.

Dark Angel: Seasons One And Two £14.99 Each

Dark Angel: Season One    Dark Angel: Season Two

While it’s easy to dismiss Jessica Alba as just another generic sexpot, at time she does actually put in a good performance. Take for example the short-lived James Cameron series Dark Angel – it would never have been as watchable if she wasn’t in it (in my opinion anyway).

Only two seasons were ever produced, with the first having 22 episodes and the second being 21 installments long. Sadly the DVD releases come with nothing in the way of bonus material, which is a shame to be honest.

Click here to get Dark Angel: Season One for £14.99 from Play.com, or click here to buy Dark Angel: Season Two for the same price from the same retailer – in fact, if you’re buying both you’ll get them for £12.50 each as part of Play.com’s 2 for £25 promotion.

Monsters, Inc. £5.93

Monsters, Inc. is the largest scare factory in the world, with the top Kid-Scarer being Sulley who is assisted by his best friend Mike Wazowski. After a human girl named Boo visits them though, both monsters will have their world turned upside down…

This excellent Pixar movie comes with some equally decent extra features. These include the "For The Birds" and "Mike’s New Car" shorts, deleted scenes, outtakes and an interactive game.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £5.93 from Asda.

Bottom: Series One To Three £14.89

Bottom: Series One To Three

After the massive success of The Young Ones, Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall continued working together for quite a while – generally with characters who closely resembled Rick and Vyvyan. Bottom is perhaps their best production since the end of The Young Ones, with Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler causing mayhem and anarchy wherever they go.

Inside the Bottom: Series One To Three boxset you’ll find all 18 installments of the BBC2 comedy. Pity there’s nothing in the way of special features, as it would be nice to hear how the guys feel about the show now.

John Mills: The Centenary Collection I £12.99

For such a small country (in terms of land mass anyway!), Britain has managed to produced some of the finest actors the world has ever seen – one such example is the legendary John Mills, who starred in more than 120 films in a career that spanned seven decades.

Inside the John Mills: The Centenary Collection I boxset you’ll find seven of his best works – In Which We Serve, We Dive At Dawn, Waterloo Road, Great Expectations, The October Man, The History Of Mr Polly and Flame In The Streets.

Married With Children From £6.93

Married With Children: The Complete First Season    Married With Children: The Complete Second Season

Married With Children was an American comedy series that ran for 11 years. It follows the lives of the Bundy family and, more often that, storylines revolve around a scheming Al being foiled by his cartoonish dim wit and bad luck.

The first two seasons are still available in this country, with season one containing 13 episodes and a reunion special – season two has considerably more installments (22), plus some interviews with the cast.
