Numb3rs: Seasons One And Two £10.97 Each

Numb3rs: The Complete First Season    Numb3rs: The Second Season

Numb3rs is an American series that follows FBI Special Agent Don Eppes and his mathematical genius brother, Charlie Eppes, who helps Don solve crimes for the FBI. Although very popular in the U.S., this hasn’t managed to repeat its success on this side of the pond – probably down to the fact that it’s been stuck out on ITV3 most of the time.

Sadly there are no bonus materials to be found on any boxsets in this country, which is very annoying when you consider that the Region 1 sets are loaded with them!

To get Numb3rs: The Complete First Season for £10.97 from Amazon, click here. The same retailer also have Numb3rs: The Second Season (click here) available for the same price.

Quantum Of Solace (Blu-Ray) £12.99

Quantum Of Solace (Blu-Ray)

Quantum Of Solace is the 22nd James Bond film, and is a direct sequel to Casino Royale. It’s also Daniel Craig’s second performance in the role, which sees Bond battle Dominic Greene, who is a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist who intends to stage a coup in Bolivia to take control of its water supply.

This high definition release of the movie looks and sounds as fantastic as you would hope, and also comes with all of the extra features found on the standard DVD version. These include a documentary on the making of the film, five featurettes and a multitude of webisodes.

If you fancy Quantum Of Solace, on Blu-Ray, click here to buy it for £12.99 from HMV. This retailer exclusive also comes with a "Bond On Set" mini-book.

ER: The Complete Thirteenth Season £8.99

ER: The Complete Thirteenth Season

Although it’s just recently finished its fifteenth and final year, ER will go down in history as quite possibly the best medical drama series that has ever been produced – just compare it to our very own Casualty, which looks quite pathetic when you match them up (how many times the same storyline can be repeated without anyone noticing is beyond me).

ER: The Complete Thirteenth Season contains all 23 episodes from the 2006/2007 era, with the highlights being the aftermath of the last season’s finale and departures of two of the regular cast members for good.

Traffic £2.56

Traffic

Traffic is a film about the failing war against drugs. We encounter a high-ranking judge who learns that his daughter is addicted to cocaine, a housewife who takes over her husband’s drug dealing business and a police officer who struggles to do the right thing in the midst of corruption.

With a multitude of actors, including Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, this has an all-star cast in the truest sense of the term. It’s not a bad film either, which is always a good thing.

Select Cheaper are selling this DVD for only £2.56 – click here for more details.

Tremors, Tremors 2: Aftershocks And Tremors 3: Back To Perfection Triple Pack £3.93

The Tremors, Tremors 2: Aftershocks and Tremors 3: Back To Perfection triple pack contains three cheap DVDs

Whilst the debut entry in the Tremors series is a very good monster comedy film about a group of people in a small town fighting subterranean worm-creatures, the subsequent sequels are much worse – that being said, Tremors 2: Aftershocks definitely has its moments.

The Tremors, Tremors 2: Aftershocks and Tremors 3: Back To Perfection triple pack contains the first three installments in the franchise in one handy set. Like I said before, Tremors is head and shoulders above the rest.

Dad’s Army: The Complete Sixth Series £1.93

Dad's Army: The Complete Sixth Series

While there is no denying that the events of World War II were very serious, it’s always a good thing when comedians can make light of such tragedy. Classic British sitcom Dad’s Army did this well, with its hilarious depiction of the Home Guard – I dare say even those of us not old enough to see this when it originally aired will find it just as funny as those who did.

Dad’s Army: The Complete Sixth Series contains the full seven episodes from the 1973 year. Also included are a photo gallery and a featurette about John Le Mesurier, who portrayed Sergeant Arthur Wilson in the programme.

Doctor Who: The Invasion £2.93

Doctor Who: The Invasion

Patrick Troughton’s Doctor encounters the Cybermen in London in Doctor Who: The Invasion. As with many serials from this era, a complete version doesn’t exist – episodes one and four have been lost forever (although the soundtracks still remain).

Not to worry though as this DVD has both in animated form, which is the closest we’ll get to seeing the complete saga. The documentary "Evolution Of The Invasion" is also included, featuring interviews with a number of cast and crew members.

The Hut have this set of cheap DVDs available for only £2.93 – for more information, click here.

Bones: Seasons One To Three £17.99 Each

Bones: Season One    Bones: Season Two    Bones: Season Three

It might seem like every second show is a police drama nowadays, but Bones is actually one of the many airing that is worth taking a look at. Each episode focuses on an FBI case file concerning the mystery behind human remains brought to the anthropology team of Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (nothing groundbreaking, but certainly an entertaining way to spend an hour).

Each boxset of the series comes with a varying number of installments – season one has 22 episodes, season two has 21 and season three amounts to just 15 because of the writer’s strike. All three sets also come packed with bonus material, including four bonus episodes from the fourth year in the third season collection.

Click here to get Bones: Season One for £17.99 from HMV. The same retailer also has Bones: Season Two (click here) and Bones: Season Three (click here) at the same price.

Battlestar Galactica: Seasons One To Four £27.98

The Battlestar Galactica: Seasons One To Four boxset contains a total of 20 cheap DVDs

If you’re a little confused about what’s inside the Battlestar Galactica: Seasons One To Four boxset, let me help you. The first three seasons are fine and obvious – it’s just the fourth that is a bit on the tricky side to explain.

Due to the writer’s strike at the end of 2007, the fourth year was split in two. Thus, the seasons labelled four in this set is perhaps better being called 4.1 (the other half is due fore release at some point soon).

Click here to buy this set for £27.98 from Amazon.
