Bronson (Blu-Ray) £8.95

Bronson is a biographical crime film that follows the life of notorious prisoner Michael Gordon Peterson, who was renamed Charles Bronson by his fight promoter. He is perhaps best known in this country for spending most of his time behind bars in solitary confinement.

This high definition release of the movie looks and sounds absolutely fantastic, and also comes with the same extras as the standard DVD version. These include an audio commentary, "making of" documentary, cast and crew introductions, and an introduction to the film from Charles Bronson himself.

30 Rock: Season One £7.98

It’s often said that some of the funniest stuff in television actually goes on behind-the-scenes, which is very easy to believe if you watch 30 Rock. Taking place in a fictional live-action sketch show (the inspiration for which is Saturday Night Live), this is one of the best comedies around.

The 30 Rock: Season One boxset contains the first 21 episodes, along with audio commentaries on selected installments, outtakes and deleted scenes.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £7.98 from Amazon.

The Take £6.99

Martina Cole’s The Take is a Sky One adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name. Being received well by both viewers and critics, this is probably one of the best programmes of 2009 – with some great acting and a gripping story keeping you hooked until the end.

Sadly there is no sign of any extra features on this DVD, which is a great shame – it would have been nice to hear from either the author or some of the cast and crew.

Play.com are selling this for £6.99 – click here for more details.

Waltz With Bashir £4.99

Waltz With Bashir is an Israeli animated documentary looking at the memories of director Ari Folman from the 1982 Lebanon War. It holds the unique distinction of being one of the first animated films from the country to receive a theatrical release.

The DVD only comes with an interview with the director, but this beautifully made piece of cinema is something that you will definitely be coming back to again in the future.

Inside the Shameless: Series One To Six boxset you’ll find all 66 episodes made thus far. There’s also hours of bonus material to get through, including a couple of bonus installments and a wide variety of audio commentaries and deleted scenes.

Boston Legal: The Complete Series £69.99

William Shatner will forever be known as Captain James T Kirk of the starship U.S.S Enterprise, but he has also recently received much praise for his performances in the comedy/drama show Boston Legal – which finished up at the tail end of 2008.

The Boston Legal: The Complete Series boxset contains all 101 episodes ever made, although I’m unable to determine whether or not there are any special features (I’ll hazard a guess that the answer is there aren’t any).

UFO: Volumes One To Four £13.99

UFO was a science fiction series from the team behind Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet, except that this was in fact a live-action show. The TV executives originally thought this would be aimed at kids – until storylines featuring adultery, divorce and drug use made them see differently.

The UFO: Volumes One To Four boxset contains the first 13 episodes that comprise season one. You’ll also find an audio commentary with Gerry Anderson on the pilot, plus two or three still galleries.

Being Human: Series One (Blu-Ray) £13.97

Being Human is a British series that originally aired on BBC Three, which follows the lives of three characters who are sharing a house in Bristol – whilst trying to disguise the fact that they are a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire (which sounds stupid, but works really well).

The Being Human: Series One Blu-Ray release contains all six episodes in glorious high definition. You’ll also find the character profiles and deleted scenes from the standard DVD version as well.

Amazon have this available for £13.97 – for more information, click here.
