The Flash: The Complete Series

Here’s a very uninteresting fact about The Flash TV series - Mark Hamill (better known as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films) stars as a character called The Trickster. Told you it wasn’t that interesting!

Anyway, this was shown in 1990 and only lasted the one season. It was quite expensive to make and rating weren’t particularly good, so it’s not all that surprising that it was cancelled.

The US version of Amazon have this six disc set available for around £12.57 - click here for more details. Just in case you were worried, this will work perfectly on your PAL DVD player (it’s a multi-region release).

Hustle: The Complete Seasons One To Four Boxset £31.97

Hustle: The Complete Seasons One To Four Boxset

Hustle is a comedy drama series created by a former EastEnders writer, but don’t let that put you off - this is actually a very entertaining show. Nice to see that the BBC have some sense at least some of the time.

We follow a group of con artists as they attempt to scam money from their victims. Even though what they’re doing is incredibly illegal, they still follow set rules like "bad behaviour breeds bad luck" and "you can’t cheat an honest man". How nice of them.

No Country For Old Men £6.99

No Country For Old Men

One of the best films of 2007 was undoubtedly No Country For Old Men. Winning four Academy Awards (including Best Picture and Best Director) only helped cement this opinion.

The film is a crime thriller that has been adapted from the Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name. It tells the story of a botched drug deal and the following drama, as three men cross each other’s paths in the barren landscape of West Texas in the 1980s.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £6.99 from HMV. Definitely one of those cheap DVDs that I can’t recommend highly enough.

Lost: The Complete First Series £14.99

Lost: The Complete First Series

If you’ve never seen Lost, then you’ve missed out on one of the most confusing shows of all time. Jumping between the past, present and future can get a tad tiresome after a while - although it’ll all be over soon anyway.

Lost: The Complete First Series is actually still the best series yet, even though we’ll soon be heading into the fifth. The pilot episode alone is worth the purchase, in my opinion.

Click here to buy it for £14.99 from Play.com.

Last Of The Summer Wine: Series One & Two £8.99

Last Of The Summer Wine: Series One & Two

It’s quite unbelievable that Last Of The Summer Wine is still running, some 29 series and nearly 35 years since it first began. Just a pity that nobody finds it funny any more - most of the jokes got a little bit tiring after the third series, never mind the 29th!

The Last Of The Summer Wine: Series One & Two boxset has 13 episodes from the 276 made so far. Some of these are actually fairly amusing, if I do say so myself.

HMV are selling this set for £8.99 - for more information, click here. This could make a nice triple set with the Bread: Series One & Two and Keeping Up Appearances: Series One & Two collections we featured earlier today. Maybe.

Supernatural: Seasons One And Two £12.99 Each

Supernatural: The Complete First Season

Supernatural is a cult US drama series that deals with the paranormal, but is not really like The X-Files. For a start, there’s no F.B.I. members or giant conspiracies to contend with. Yet.

The show follows Sam and Dean Winchester travelling around the country, in a black 1967 Chevy Impala, investigating and combating paranormal events and unexplained occurrences. Many are based on urban legends and folklore, as well as the classic paranormal team of vampires, werewolfs and ghosts.

Click here to get Supernatural: The Complete First Season for £12.99 from HMV.

Supernatural: The Complete Second Season

Shoved away in a late-night slot on ITV1, it wouldn’t surprise me if hardly anyone had heard of this show. It does have a prime-time slot on ITV2 - except it’s on a Sunday!

Supernatural: The Complete Second Season contains 22 more episodes for your viewing pleasure. I should warn you in advance that this year features an evil clown, which is downright terrifying.

HMV also have this season available for £12.99 - click here for more details.

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One (HD-DVD) £14.97

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One (HD-DVD)

The good thing about the Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One set, on HD-DVD, is that it will also work on standard DVD players. Obviously the picture won’t look as good as it does in high definition, but this is a much cheaper way of picking up the boxset.

This is a collection of the very first 29 episodes of the show that still has legions of fans to this day. The picture really does look fantastic as well.

To buy this for the reduced-even-further price of £14.97 from Amazon, simply click here.

Keeping Up Appearances: Series One & Two £7.99

Keeping Up Appearances: Series One & Two

It surprised me to learn that Keeping Up Appearances only ran for five years - it seemed like it was on a lot longer than that. Probably something to do with the amount of times it’s been repeated.

The Keeping Up Appearances: Series One & Two boxset contains 16 episodes of the hit BBC comedy show. Remember that it’s pronounced "Bouquet" and not "Bucket"!

Click here to get this set for £7.99 from HMV.

Bread: Series One & Two £6.99

The Bread: Series One & Two boxset contains three cheap DVDs

Bread was quite a popular BBC sitcom in the late 80s, although some took offense to the way that Liverpudlians were portrayed in it. I’ll sit on the fence, as I can see where both sides come from in the argument.

The Bread: Series One & Two boxset contains every episode from the first two runs, totalling nearly six hours worth of comedy. How nice.

HMV have this collection available for £6.99 - click here for more details.
