The Benny Hill Annuals: 1970-79 £49.99

Benny Hill was quite possibly one of the funniest comedians of the 70s. Some might dispute this by using the easy cop-out of saying he was a bit of a pervert, but it’s plain as day that he’s influenced many of the top comedy acts of today (just look at Little Britain, for example).

The Benny Hill Annuals: 1970-79 boxset is a 12 disc collection which contains more than 30 of his classic shows. This retails for night on £100 at most retailers, so is something of a bargain at this price.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Seasons One To Three From £12.95 Each

There’s a new slimline version of the Star Trek: The Next Generation boxsets available, but retailers quite often like to get rid of the old ones (which are exactly the same, although with bigger boxes).

This is the case with Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season One. This seven disc set contains all 25 episodes, plus a whole host of bonus material.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Two has slightly fewer episodes in it (22, to be exact). It does, however, have as good a selection of extra features that you’ll probably ever see on any DVD set.

With countless hours of interesting documentaries, interviews and interactive doo-dahs any Star Trek fan will be in their element.

Oddly, Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Three bumps the total number of episodes back up (this time to 26). Usually shows have roughly the same number of installments each series, you see.

This seven disc set again comes loaded with bonus material. They sure do know how to treat Trekkies - just a pity that Ghostbusters fans (yes, that includes me) don’t get treated quite as well. Hey ho!

I Can’t Believe There’s More HD-DVD Reductions, Can You?

I can’t believe there’s more HD-DVD reductions, can you?

The answer to that is probably "yes", mainly due to the fact that HMV have been lowering the price of most of their stock for some time now.

Underworld: Evolution £2

Underworld: Evolution is the sequel to one of the best vampire films in recent times (Underworld, if you hadn’t guessed already). Not quite as good as the first one, but still worth picking up at this price.

Picking up right where Undeworld left off (in the midst of a war between Lycans and vampires), with death-dealer Selene on the run with her vamp-wolf hybrid lover Michael. With time running out, the two must piece together the final clues and unlock the secrets before it’s too late…

Pop in to your nearest WH Smith and you should be able to get this DVD for just £2.

Deep Purple: Live In California 74 £4.99

One of the most iconic bands of the 70s were Deep Purple. With such classics as "Space Trukin" and "Smoke On The Water", they are still somewhat popular even now.

Deep Purple: Live In California 74 contains one of their most infamous shows (with a DTS soundtrack as well, which is nice). Ritchie Blackmore smashes up the place, and nearly gets the group banned from playing in America ever again!

Quantum Leap: The Complete Third Season £8.89

Quantum Leap is a great show about a guy who finds himself stuck in the past, driven to change history for the better. Dr Sam Beckett leaps from life to life in order to put right what was once wrong, and hoping that he will eventually make it back into his own time.

Quantum Leap: The Complete Third Season is a collection of 22 thrilling episodes. In fact, this series has two of the best ever made - "The Leap Home (Part One)" and "The Leap Home (Part Two)".

Peanuts Boxsets For £10.99 Each

Viewers of a particular age will probably remember Peanuts more for the newspaper cartoons than the animated series. It’s well worth catching, as who can resist the adventures of a black and white dog?

This Peanuts Boxset contains four individual releases ("A Charlie Brown Celebration", "It’s The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown", "You’re A Good Sport, Charlie Brown" and "Snoopy, The Musical") in one handy set.

If one collection wasn’t enough, here’s a Classic Peanuts Boxset as well. With over four hours of classic animation, this is well worth getting.

I suppose this is almost like the polar opposite of Garfield - both started off in newspaper cartoons, but one’s about a dog and the other’s about a cat. Interesting fact that, no?

The Complete Yes Minister & Yes Prime Minister Collector’s Boxset £17.49

The BBC used to provide us with some great comedy - the likes of Monty Python and Only Fools And Horses are just two examples. Another would be the Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister series’.

Both follow the political career of Jim Hacker and all the madness that comes with being Minister Of Administrative Affairs and, eventually, leader of the country.
