The X Files: The Complete Collector's Edition

The new X Files film is allegedly a bit of a stinker, but if you want to remind yourself of the good times then The X Files: The Complete Collector’s Edition is the best way to do so.

This whopping 61 disc set contains every episode from all nine seasons, as well as the first feature-length movie. Here’s hoping that they get it right in 2012 (when the next film is supposed to come out).

If you fancy this collection, click here to get it for £69.98 from Amazon.

Red Dwarf: Just The Shows - Volume Two

Today we’re featuring Red Dwarf: Just The Shows - Volume Two which contains every single episode from series five right through to the end of series eight. That’s six discs filled with 24 installments of science fiction comedy at its best.

Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace: The Complete Series £3.95

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace: The Complete Series

Countless times on this site I’ve mentioned that Channel 4 is home to some of the best comedy around. Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace is another show which is downright hilarious - but which many people have sadly not had the privilege of seeing.

Rectify this by getting hold of a copy of Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace: The Complete Series. All six episodes (which each spoof a certain type of 80’s programme) are included, as are hours of bonus material.

If you fancy this DVD, click here to get it for £3.95 from base.com (who in a previous life were known as DVD.co.uk). Incidentally, this is part of a 5 DVDs for £15 offer - so you could end up getting it for just £3! Love it when cheap DVDs like this appear.

Big Train: Series One And Two £8.99

Big Train: Series One And Two

Many people will recognise Simon Pegg from Spaced, Shaun Of The Dead or Hot Fuzz. For me though, his best work can be seen in Big Train - a comedy sketch show unlike many others, in that it’s actually very funny.

Although it only ran for two series’, the sheer amount of top quality gags still stay in the memory even now. From the shy policemen, to the office where masturbation is frequent (not for much longer though!), right up to the infamous staring contests this is brilliant stuff from beginning to end.

Click here to buy the Big Train: Series One And Two DVD for £8.99 from HMV.

Starship Troopers Trilogy (Blu-Ray) £17.95

Starship Troopers Trilogy (Blu-Ray)

The Starship Troopers films follow in variety of quality - the first one is very good, the second one is very average, and the third one is very poor. Heaven help them if they decide to make a fourth then.

To "celebrate" the appearance of Starship Troopers 3: Marauder, Sony are releasing a Starship Troopers Trilogy boxset on Blu-Ray. Sadly, excellent sound and picture quality will not make the second sequel any better.

Zavvi have this collection available for £17.95 - click here for more details.

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One (HD-DVD) £24.97

Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One (HD-DVD)

HD-DVD is dead, but many retailers have been reducing the price of the stuff they have left - which has provided us with a range of bargains over recent months.

One of the most anticipated for reduction has been Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One. Even if you’re a regular DVD owner you can play these discs, as it just so happens that they’re dual-sided (DVD on one side, HD-DVD on the other).

Click here to get this set for £24.97 from Amazon.

Batman Begins (Blu-Ray) £9.99

Batman Begins (Blu-Ray)

With all the fanfare around The Dark Knight (which is entirely justified, by the way) now would be a good time to see Batman Begins - if you haven’t seen it already, of course.

The Blu-Ray release of the film shows the best possible picture quality you’ll probably ever see on a TV screen, and also gives you a whole host of bonus material to watch as well.

Movietyme are currently selling this for £9.99 - for more information, click here.
