Elfen Lied is an anime television series based on the manga series of the same name. Strangely, production started before the manga had been completed, so the plot differs between the two quite a bit – especially when it comes to the ending.

The Elfen Lied: Complete Collection boxset contains all 13 episodes across four discs. Sadly there are no extras to be found, but that’s usually the case when it comes to anime DVDs anyway!

Star Trek: Enterprise – Season One £11.97

Even though Star Trek: Enterprise became the first series in the franchise since the original to be cancelled by its network instead of being finished by its producers, the show wasn’t as bad as that would suggest. It would, however, mark the end of an 18 year back-to-back run of new Star Trek programming.

Star Trek: Enterprise – Season One contains all 26 episodes from the first year, along with a ton of bonus material. This includes an audio commentary on the pilot, three text commentaries, 16 deleted scenes, eight featurettes, and some outtakes.

Six Feet Under: The Complete Fifth Season £7.99

Six Feet Under is an American drama series that revolves around the Fisher family, who run a funeral home in Los Angeles, and their friends and lovers – over the course of five years, viewers traced their lives with many holding out hope that at some point in the future their may be some kind of one-off special.

Inside the four disc Six Feet Under: The Complete Fifth Season boxset, you’ll find the final 12 episodes of the series. Also included are audio commentaries on six installments, a two part documentary looking back at the series as a whole, a featurette titled "Life And Loss: The Impact Of Six Feet Under", and some bonus music from the soundtrack CD.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars £7.97

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an animated film that is set between the events of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith. This is the first movie in the franchise to not be live-action, and also serves as an introduction to the TV series of the same name.

Sadly there’s only one extra feature to be found on the DVD, in the form of an audio commentary. The Blu-Ray release comes with much more (including multiple featurettes and other goodies), which is a tad annoying.

Hotel Rwanda £2.93

Hotel Rwanda is a historical drama about hotelier Paul Rusesabagina during the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. The film documents his acts to save the lives of his family and more than a thousand other refugees, by granting them shelter in the besieged Hôtel des Milles Collines.

The DVD comes with a feature-length audio commentary by writer, producer and director Terry George, the real Paul Rusesabagina, and songwriter Wyclef Jean. There’s also a commentary with star Don Cheadle on selected scenes, plus a couple of featurettes looking at the making of the movie.

These are supposed to be the final releases of each film on DVD, but the cynic inside me says this will probably be a load of rubbish – money talks, when it’s all said and done.

Fight Club, The Usual Suspects And Memento Triple Pack £6.43

The common theme that links all of the films in the Fight Club, The Usual Suspects and Memento triple pack is that they all have surprising twists that are revealed right at the very end – I’m not going to spoil any of them, as each is well worth watching.

Of the three, it’s very difficult to choose which one is best. Memento is quite difficult to understand until you’ve seen it all the way through, but could be considered by some to be the most re-watchable of the lot based on this same fact.

A Fish Called Wanda And Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Double Pack £3.99

While it’s nice to be able to pick up DVDs for incredibly cheap prices nowadays, it’s even better when you can get two or more films in one pack for an equally reasonable cost – such is the case with the A Fish Called Wanda and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels double pack.

The former is a comedy about a jewel heist and the aftermath of the crime, whilst Dirty Rotten Scoundrels focuses on two con artists who ply their trade on the French Riviera.

The Samsung BD-P1400 Blu-Ray player won’t only play any Blu-Ray disc you throw at it, it will also upgrade the picture quality of all of your standard DVDs as well – something that’s very useful if you have a fairly large collection.
