O Brother Where Art Thou?

O Brother Where Art Thou? is a unique take on Homer’s (not Simpson!) classic Odyssey. George Clooney even won a Golden Globe for his role in this film, fact fans.

Ulysses Everett McGill (Clooney) is a petty criminal who finds himself in a chain gang in Mississippi. Together with a couple of losers (Tim Blake Nelson as Delmar and John Turturro as Pete), he scams his way off the chain gang and into the adventure of a lifetime as the three set off in search of buried treasure… still shackled and hopelessly unprepared.

Supernatural: Complete Seasons One And Two £25.97

Supernatural: Complete Seasons One And Two

If you enjoy programmes in the same vein as Ghost Whisperer or The X-Files, then you might very well like Supernatural as well. ITV2 show it in the UK, but I’m not sure how popular it is - it’d be a shame if it wasn’t, as the effects are quite good. As are the stories themselves.

The Supernatural: Complete Seasons One And Two boxset contains all 44 episodes from the first two years, as well as some interesting bonus material.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £25.97 from Amazon.

Teachers: The Complete Series £28.97

Teachers: The Complete Series

Most of the comedy output from Channel 4 is of a high standard, but one of my personal favourites has to have been Teachers. Although the comedy drama got a bit rubbish towards the end, the rest of the time it was easily the best show set in a school - outside of Grange Hill, of course.

Teachers: The Complete Series is an 11 disc set that contains every episode ever made. As I said before, the last series is a bit iffy but the rest are very good.

Planet Of The Apes: 35th Anniversary Edition £2.99

Planet Of The Apes: 35th Anniversary Edition

The original Planet Of The Apes film is one of the best of all time. Although the remake was a big steaming pile of turd, this classic piece of action is great from the very beginning to the chilling final moments.

The Planet Of The Apes: 35th Anniversary Edition DVD set contains a copy of the movie plus a whole host of bonus material, including a couple of audio commentaries and extensive documentaries.

HMV are selling this for only £2.99 - click here for more details on this cheap DVDs’ availability.

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection From £5.97

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection

The Pink Panther films are excellent, but it’s the Pink Panther cartoon that I remember best. This is probably due to the fact that it was shown quite a bit by the BBC (I think!) when I was younger.

The Pink Panther Cartoon Collection contains all 124 installments from the 1960 and 1970s, as well as 37 minutes of unseen footage. You also get the opening animations for the films included too.

Click here to bag this set for £5.97 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £7.42 delivered) from Amazon.

The Adventures Of Worzel Gummidge £5.49

The Adventures Of Worzel Gummidge

I hope I’m not the only one who found Worzel Gummidge slightly terrifying when I was younger - there’s something inherently creepy about a scarecrow who can talk. Jon Pertwee does a great job though.

The Adventures Of Worzel Gummidge is a three disc set which contains nine of the best episodes of the show, so you can watch it again and terrify your own kids this time!

Catterick: Series One £4.99

Catterick: Series One is one of those cheap DVDs worth getting if you're a fan of bizarre comedy

Catterick is a spin-off from the "Bang, Bang It’s Reeves And Mortimer" show - if anyone remembers the spoof-docusoap "The Club" from it, Catterick features many of the characters from it.

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are known for their slightly bizarre brand of comedy, and this series is no different. The odd thing is that the BBC apparently don’t want to make any more episodes, which is a shame.

Click here to get Catterick: Series One for just £4.99 from HMV.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this deal, as there’s actually a few good DVDs in it - usually you struggle to find three, but here you should have no trouble at all.
