Ponyo (Blu-Ray) £9.99

Ponyo (Blu-Ray)

Though the idea of a film about a fish who befriends a boy and decides they want to become a girl might seem far-fetched, it's worth remembering that Ponyo is a Japanese animated movie – which did very well when it came out in America too.

This high definition release looks and sounds brilliant, plus it comes with some interesting bonus material too. This includes a documentary on Studio Ghibli, an interactive thingy and some storyboards.

Casino, Scarface and Carlito’s Way Triple Pack £4.25

There's no question that both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will go down in the history books as two of the greatest actors of their generation, but who is the better of the two? Personally I prefer De Niro for his magnificent performances in The Godfather Part II and Taxi Driver – although some of his career decisions have been odd to say the least (The Adventures Of Rocky & Bullwinkle anyone?!?).

Anyway this Casino, Scarface and Carlito's Way triple pack contains three excellent movies starring one of the guys – Pacino is in Scarface and Carlito's Way, whilst Robert De Niro is in Casino.

Baz Luhrmann's Epic Romances

Baz Luhrmann is an Australian director who is probably best known for The Red Curtain Trilogy (Strictly Ballroom, Romeo and Juliet, and Moulin Rouge!) – two of which can be found inside the Baz Luhrmann's Epic Romances boxset.

The aforementioned Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge! are included, along with his most recent work, Australia. You'll also find a bonus CD which contains some of the music from each of the three films.

Made in Sheffield £2.99

Made in Sheffield

Looking at the explosion of electronic pop at the tail-end of the 1970's, Made in Sheffield is a documentary that follows the rise of such iconic groups as The Human League and ABC – who left punk in the dust and set the foundation for a New Wave of music.

This DVD not only contains the near one-hour feature, but also some interesting bonus materials as well. Chief amongst these are bonus interviews with some of the artists, plus some incredibly rare live footage.

Prison Break: The Complete Series £59.99

The Prison Break: The Complete Series boxset contains 23 cheap DVDs

Prison Break was incredibly popular for its first couple of seasons, but the third went down like a fart in a jacuzzi – I think that the idea of Michael Scofield ending up in yet another prison just seemed to push viewers too far. The final year was much improved though, even if it made little sense and was really just an excuse to create a load of mayhem!

Inside the Prison Break: The Complete Series boxset you'll find a whopping 23 discs which contain every single episode ever made, including "The Final Break" conclusion special. Tons of special features can also be found, which range from audio commentaries to deleted scenes via copious amounts of featurettes.

HMV have this set available for £59.99 – for more information, click here.

Battlestar Galactica: Season Four £6.99

Battlestar Galactica: Season Four

Because of the writers' strike in late 2007, the final series of Battlestar Galactica was split in two – therefore, the DVD release titled Battlestar Galactica: Season Four is actually the first 12 episodes of the final season (confusing, eh?).

Not only do you get the 10 regular installments, but the Battlestar Galactica: Razor TV movie as well. Bonus material consists of a sneak peek at the remaining episodes (which are available on DVD and Blu-Ray now as well) and some deleted scenes.

Click here to get this set for £6.99 from HMV.

Battlestar Galactica: The Final Season (Blu-Ray) £15.93

Battlestar Galactica: The Final Season (Blu-Ray)

The re-imagined version of Battlestar Galactica had unfortunate timing when it came to the final season – slap bang in the middle of a writer's strike. This meant that it was split in two, with Battlestar Galactica: The Final Season actually consisting of the last ten episodes of the series.

Anyway, this high definition release has all ten in glorious high definition – plus it comes with all of the bonus material from the DVD version. This includes audio commentaries, deleted scenes, a look back at the show as a whole and lots of other small bits and pieces.

If you fancy Battlestar Galactica: The Final Season, on Blu-Ray, click here to buy it for £15.93 from Amazon.

Survival of the Dead (Blu-Ray) £4.99

Survival of the Dead (Blu-Ray)

Following on where the last film left off, Survival of the Dead catches up with a group of mercenary National Guardsmen who made a brief appearance in Diary of the Dead – still trying to fight back against more hordes of zombies.

This high definition release has great picture and sound quality, but the fact that there are absolutely no extra features at all is a bit of a let down – a trailer at the very least would have been nice.

Click here to get Survival of the Dead, on Blu-Ray, for £4.99 from Amazon.
