Monster House, Surf’s Up And Open Season Triple Pack £5.49

The animated film genre has come a long way from the days of classics like Snow White and The Jungle Book – in fact, as the technology improves they only begin to look even better. It’s just a shame that the older style has died off a bit, as some people get quite nostalgic about it.

Three decent movies are found in the Monster House, Surf’s Up and Open Season triple pack, which will delight kids of any age. I’m sure that some adults will more than likely raise a smile or two at them as well.

Amidst the confusion, the Government investigates where they’ve been and why they’ve come back – only to discover that their presence will change the human race in ways nobody could have imagined…

Kung Fu Hustle Gift Set £3.89

After the madness of Shaolin Soccer, Stephen Chow ups the amount of over-the-top action by a considerable amount for Kung Fu Hustle. Set in 1930s Shanghai, it is a tale of redemption for the central character (played by Chow), a petty criminal who is trying to join the city’s most powerful gang.

The Kung Fu Hustle gift set contains a copy of the film on DVD (which comes with all manner of extra features), a keyring, a sweatband, playing cards, and an inflatable axe.

Doctor Who: Beneath The Surface £9.93

Doctor Who: Beneath The Surface is a collection of three stories (Doctor Who And The Silurians, The Sea Devils, and Warriors Of The Deep) from the Jon Pertwee and Peter Davison eras, that are linked by their inclusion of the enemies known as The Sea Devils and/or The Silurians.

The four disc boxset also comes with a plethora of bonus material, the highlight of which are three separate audio commentaries. You’ll also find numerous featurettes and "making of" documentaries, along with a few other short bits and bobs.

The Mummy Trilogy Steelbook £12.59

Although The Mummy was originally intended to be a low-budget horror film, it eventually transformed into a big-budget action movie that spawned a completely new franchise – proof positive that even a seemingly throwaway film can do much better than anyone could possibly predict.

The Mummy Trilogy Steelbook boxset contains all of the main movies that have been made thus far (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor) in a special metallic case.

You Rang, M’Lord?: The Complete Boxset £13.97

Jimmy Perry and David Croft had a string of hit comedy series’ during their time at the BBC, including Dad’s Army and Hi-de-Hi! Perhaps their least well-remembered one was You Rang, M’Lord?, which was set in the house of an aristocratic family during the 1920s, and contrasted the upper-class family and their servants (much like the popular drama Upstairs, Downstairs).

You Rang, M’Lord?: The Complete Boxset contains all 25 episodes ever made from the four series’ that were produced. Considering each installment runs for nearly 50 minutes, that’s quite a bit of comedy!

Fred Claus £1.99

Fred Claus is a Christmas comedy film about Santa Claus and his estranged brother. When an efficiency expert assess the workings at the North Pole, Fred must reconcile his differences with his brothers or else Santa will be shut down.

The DVD comes with an audio commentary by director David Dobkin and a total of 13 deleted scenes. Although this is completely out of season, at this price it will sell out fast…

RoboCop (Blu-Ray) £7.95

22 years after its release, RoboCop still has much that makes it relevant to this day. Instead of just being a standard action/science fiction film, it explores larger themes regarding the media, gentrification, and human nature.

The movie itself has never looked or sounded better than it does in this high definition release, although it’s a shame that there are absolutely no special features included.
