EzyDVD HD-DVD Firesale

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed - to do this, simply click here. Thanks for visiting!

In what’s turning out to be some sort of sale day, EzyDVD have an HD-DVD firesale running.

This is allegedly the last of their HD-DVD stock, but they said that the last time they had reduced them as well!

Anyway, an added bonus is that if you buy 3 or more titles you get Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix thrown in for absolutely nothing! Good times.

Hustle: The Complete Seasons One To Four Boxset £28.97

Hustle: The Complete Seasons One To Four Boxset

There’s not too many decent shows on the BBC any more, but Hustle is one of them. It’s basically about a group of five con artists living n London who extract cash from the amoral and undeserving- I suppose they’re like a band of Robin Hoods, just without the giving to the poor bit.

Hustle: The Complete Seasons One To Four Boxset contains every episode from the first four series’, with some additional bonus material thrown in for good measure.

Click here to get this collection for £28.97 from Amazon.

Rambo £9

Rambo

If you want to get confused, try this on for size - Rambo is the title of the fourth Rambo film. This means we’ve had First Blood (more commonly known as Rambo or Rambo: First Blood), then Rambo: First Blood - Part II and then Rambo III. I do apologies if your head has just exploded.

This outing sees John Rambo, who has been living in Northern Thailand for some time, reluctantly agreeing to take a group of Christian missionaries into war-torn Burma. However when the aid workers are captured by ruthless soldiers, Rambo has to lead a team of battle-scarred, combat-hardened mercenaries on an epic mission to resuce the workers - at all costs.

Tesco have Rambo available for £9 - for more information, click here (you can also get this for the same price instore, by the way).

Family Guy: Season Three £7.95

Family Guy: Season Three

Family Guy is still a very funny animated show, but as time goes by you do wonder if it will become like The Simpsons - a bit crap. Not to say that The Simpsons is terrible, just nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Anyway, Family Guy: Season Three is probably one of the best seasons of the show as it doesn’t have the continuous cut-away jokes that season four has so many of. It also has some of the best episodes made yet of this now classic comedy programme.

Click here to get this set for £7.95 from DVD.co.uk - if you’re interested in getting every season in one convenient package may I suggest the Family Guy: Complete Seasons 1-6 boxset, which is £49.99.

Bill Bailey: The Classic Collection From £9.97

Bill Bailey: The Classic Collection

One of Britain’s very best comedians (in my opinion anyway!) has to be Bill Bailey. Although he himself would admit that he resembles some sort of troll-like creature, his takes on anything from the theme tunes of American news channels to the popularity of Megadeath are downright hilarious.

So far there’s been three live DVD releases of his work, and Bill Bailey: The Classic Collection contains each of these - Bewilderness, Cosmic Jam and Part Troll.

Click here to buy this set for £9.97 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £11.42 delivered) from Amazon.

Predator: Special Edition Collection From £6.98

Predator: Special Edition Collection

If there’s one franchise I’d personally like to see come back, it would have to be Ghostbusters - but Predator is not far behind. I’m not counting the Alien Vs Predator films because they’ve both been quite terrible (shame, as the games they are based on are quite good).

The original Predator is about a group of elite commandos who begin to get picked off by an unseen enemy - will Arnold Schwarzenegger and pals get out alive?

Predator 2 is quite different, in that it’s set in downtown Los Angeles. When mutilated bodies of rival drug gang members start appearing, Danny Glover thinks that it’s the gangs killing each other - Gary Busey turns up and tells him to back off, but good old Danny has to find out the truth for himself…

Click here to buy the Predator: Special Edition Collection for £6.98 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £8.43 delivered) from Amazon - if you just want the films without bonus material, there’s a double pack of both available for £3.99 as part of the HMV DVD sale.

Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Boxset £15.99

Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Boxset

If you’ve seen Hugh Laurie in House and wondered what he did before starring in it, be sure to check out Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Boxset - he’s in this with Stephen Fry (whom he worked with quite a bit in the 80s and 90s).

The two play aristocrats in 1930s London as they capture the wit and sophistication of the characters originally created by P.G. Wodehouse. Some really funny period comedy is on offer here, and shouldn’t be missed.

In order to get this set for £15.99 from Play.com, all you have to do is click right here.

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels £2.97

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels is a gangster comedy thriller set in London’s seedy underworld, with great dialogue and some quite funny comedy. The biggest surprise for me was that Vinnie Jones could act - especially when you consider he could barely play football!

This film also kicked off the career of director Guy Ritchie who has since gone on to do pretty much nothing of interest, apart from marrying Madonna.
