Oldboy £4.99

Oldboy

Oldboy is a 2003 South Korean film (which means subtitles for those of us unable to speak the language) that follows the story of Oh Dae-Su, who has been locked in a hotel room for 15 years without any knowledge as to why. When he is finally released, Dae-Su goes on a quest for vengeance – discovering conspiracy and strangeness along the way.

This single disc release comes with three audio commentaries. One features director Park Chan-wook, for the second he’s joined by cinematographer Jeong Jeong-hoon, and for the last one three of the lead actors converse with the ever-busy Chan-wook.

Saw IV: Extreme Edition £2.93

Saw IV: Extreme Edition

Even though the events of Saw III might make it seem impossible, Saw IV continues the story of the Jigsaw killer and his obsession with teaching people the value of their own lives.

The Saw IV: Extreme Edition DVD contains a slightly longer version of the film, as well as a whole bucketload of bonus material. This includes two audio commentaries, a documentary, two featurettes, a deleted scene, and a music video.

The Simpsons: The Complete Sixth Season £9.99

The Simpsons: The Complete Sixth Season

If The Simpsons Movie had been made five or six years ago, it would have been much better – in my opinion anyway. It’s a pity that what we got instead was basically an extended episode with very few funny moments (Spider-Pig and something else I’m forgetting).

The Simpsons: The Complete Sixth Season is a four disc set that contains 25 episodes of the hit animated show, including the first part of the classic "Who Shot Mr Burns?". You also get some interesting bonus material like deleted scenes and audio commentaries.

Young Hollywood Boxset £9.93

Young Hollywood Boxset

It’s easy for critics to take shots at the young actors and actresses that make up the casts of many blockbuster hits, but people forget that even the greats have been in one or two films they’d probably rather forget – Tom Hanks more than likely rues the day he ever decided to be in Bachelor Party, for example.

So it’s good to see that the Young Hollywood Boxset contains six movies featuring some of the best talent around today (although sadly not, in the case of Heath Ledger). A Knight’s Tale, 40 Days & 40 Nights, Honey, 13 Going On 30, Knocked Up and Georgia Rule are sure to keep you entertained for some time to come.

Elf £2.89

Cheap DVDs like Elf are great fun for all the family

Will Ferrell stars in Elf as a human who has been raised by elves, without them letting on that he is in fact a human (confusing, eh?). When he finds this out, Buddy sets out on an epic voyage to discover who his real father is – getting into all sorts of comedic mischief as the classic fish-out-of-water in New York City.

This double disc set comes packed with bonus material. The first contains two audio commentaries (one from Will Ferrell and another from director Jon Favreau), whilst the second holds five featurettes on the making of the film, four featurettes about Christmas, eight deleted scenes, music clips, sing-along songs, a read-along story, and three interactive games.

Sendit.com have this available for only £2.89 – for more information, click here.

The Brave One (2007)

The Brave One (2007) sees Jodie Foster portray a New York radio host whose life is turned upside down after a brutal attack, which leaves her badly wounded and her fiancé dead. Unable to get over the tragedy, she begins to stalk those she believes are responsible – but is she becoming the very thing she is trying to stop?

On the DVD you’ll find a documentary on the making of the film titled "I Walk The City", along with a total of seven minutes of deleted scenes deemed unworthy for the final cut of the movie.

The Omen Trilogy £4.99

The Omen Trilogy

Without a doubt, the original version of The Omen is easily one of the best horror films of all-time. An ever-present sense of dread is felt from beginning to end, and the death scenes are still fairly shocking to this day.

The Omen Trilogy boxset contains this, along with copies of Damien: Omen II and Omen III: The Final Conflict. Whilst neither are as good as the first, both are very watchable movies in their own right.

The Wire: Seasons One To Four £9.99 Each

The Wire: The Complete First Season    The Wire: The Complete Second Season    The Wire: The Complete Third Season

The Wire: The Complete Fourth Season

It was just recently that we featured The Wire: Seasons One To Three for what seemed decent prices, but we’ve managed to find them for an even lower amount today.

If you’ve yet to see any of the U.S. show, let me tell you that it’s quite simply the greatest television programme ever made. Sounds like hyperbole, but when you see it you’ll come to the same conclusion.

Bang CD are selling The Wire: The Complete First Season for an incredible £9.99 – click here for more details. Click here to buy The Wire: The Complete Second Season, click here to get The Wire: The Complete Third Season, or click here for The Wire: The Complete Fourth Season – all of which are also the same price from the same retailer.

Ricky Gervais Live Collection £7.99

Ricky Gervais Live Collection

Although Ricky Gervais is now a very successful comedian, it’s strange to think how long he actually struggled to get any sort of recognition. Appearances on Channel 4 sketch programme "The 11 O’Clock Show" and his own series titled "Meet Ricky Gervais" both bombed, whilst initial attempts at stand-up were not all that great to be honest.

Thankfully he’s since become one of the funniest people in the country (possibly the world), and produced three very funny stand-up DVDs. "Animals", "Politics" and "Fame" can all be found inside the Ricky Gervais Live Collection boxset, along with some fairly decent bonus material.

Nico: Above The Law (Blu-Ray) £8.97

Nico: Above The Law (Blu-Ray)

Nico: Above The Law is a 1988 film which is probably best remembered for being the debut of one of the world’s greatest action stars, Steven Seagal. He plays a Chicago cop who tracks down ex-CIA operatives trafficking drugs and plotting a political assassination – kicking arse and taking names as he goes.

High definition has been kind to the picture and sound quality on this release, with Seagal looking a lot better than he does now! No extras on this though, save for a theatrical trailer (which is pretty much standard for every DVD, never mind Blu-Ray).

To get Nico: Above The Law, on Blu-Ray, for £8.97 from Amazon, simply click here. Definitely one of those cheap DVDs that action fans should add to their collection.
