Collateral Damage (Blu-Ray) £8.47

Collateral Damage (Blu-Ray)

Whilst the story behind Collateral Damage isn’t anything original – man seeks out killers of his wife and son – there are enough explosions to keep anyone happy. With it being an Arnold Schwarzenegger film, you can also guarantee extreme levels of violence being dished out to a collection of nasty people.

The movie itself looks and sounds fantastic in high definition, as you can imagine, but I’m not entirely sure whether there are any extra features included. I’ll say there isn’t any, however there is a chance there might be some (how vague!).

Click here to buy Collateral Damage, on Blu-Ray, for £8.47 from Amazon.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory: Special Edition £2.99

The Charlie And The Chocolate Factory: Special Edition contains two cheap DVDs filled with extras and games

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is the 2005 Tim Burton film based on the Roald Dahl children’s novel of the same name. Not only is it the second adaptation of the book (Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, with Gene Wilder, being the first), but it’s also the second movie Tim Burton has produced which has been based on a Roald Dahl novel after James And The Giant Peach.

The Charlie And The Chocolate Factory: Special Edition DVD comes with eight featurettes looking at the making of the movie and four interactive games. I’m a little surprised there’s no audio commentary, as Burton has been known to do them when asked.

HMV have this available for £2.99 – for more information, click here.

Foo Fighters: Everywhere But Home £3.99

Foo Fighters: Everywhere But Home

After the untimely death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, drummer Dave Grohl formed the Foo Fighters as a one-man project in 1995. Prior to the release of the band’s first album, Grohl drafted in a lead guitar, drummer and bass player, and decided to take on the daunting task of lead vocals himself – something which seemed a little surprising after his time in Nirvana.

Foo Fighters: Everywhere But Home is a collection of live performances from their 2003 "One By One" tour. Extras on the DVD include an audio version of a show from Iceland and a photo gallery – it’s also worth mentioning that there’s a hidden recording of their Dublin concert (go to the main menu, select "Slane Castle", press 3 and wait for a red arrow to appear, press 8 and wait for a red arrow to appear, and finally repeat the last two steps for the numbers 2, 5, 4, and 6).

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £3.99 from HMV.

The Chaplin Collection £34.96

The Chaplin Collection

Charlie Chaplin still influences many comedians some 30 years after he died. It might not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s plain to see that in some respects he was ahead of his time – especially with his political views on the Nazis (he was strongly against them at a time when many weren’t).

The Chaplin Collection contains nine of his best works, A Woman Of Paris (the first film he made that he didn’t star in), and Charlie: The Life And Art Of Charles Chaplin (a feature-length documentary on his extraordinary life).

Dead Set £6.99

Dead Set

Dead Set is a BAFTA-nominated horror drama from the deranged mind of Charlie Brooker. The series is set in the Big Brother house, and chronicles a zombie outbreak that strands the housemates and production staff inside the house which quickly becomes a shelter from the undead.

On the DVD you’ll find interviews with the cast and crew, "behind the scenes" and "special effects" featurettes, and five deleted and extended scenes.

Pulp Fiction £2.99

Pulp Fiction

Rightly regarded as one of Quentin Tarantino’s best films up to this point, Pulp Fiction is probably best remembered for its fantastic soundtrack and for revitalising the career of lead man John Travolta (although it’s questionable whether this is a good or a bad thing, to be honest!).

This DVD doesn’t come with any extra features at all, but its low price point means that this doesn’t pose too much of a problem. There’s also a Special Edition available with has loads of bonus material, however it costs considerably more.

Click here to get this for £2.99 from Play.com.
