Waiting, Just Friends And National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: Party Liaison Triple Pack £4.99

Waiting, Just Friends And National Lampoon's Van Wilder: Party Liasion Triple Pack

Ryan Reynolds will probably get a bit of a boost in popularity soon from his portrayal of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but he’s already made some fairly decent movies in the past – of which a large percentage are comedies.

The Waiting, Just Friends and National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: Party Liaison triple pack contains three such films. Out of these, Just Friends and Van Wilder are probably slightly better than Waiting (even if it’s actually not that bad to begin with).

Cranford £3.93

Cranford

Cranford is a 2007 series based on the three Elizabeth Gaskell novellas "Cranford", "My Lady Ludlow", and "Mr Harrison’s Confessions". A small Cheshire town, inhabited largely by women, has a community that runs on co-operation and gossip, at the very heart of which are the daughters of the former rector – although domestic peace is often threatened by financial disaster, imagined burglaries, tragic accidents, and the re-appearance of long-lost relatives.

This double disc set contains all five episodes, plus an extensive documentary looking at the making of the programme imaginatively titled "The Making Of Cranford".

Asda are selling this for £3.93 – click here for more details on this cheap DVDs‘ availability.

Skins: Complete Second Series £4.99

Skins: Complete Second Series

Skins is a BAFTA-winning teen drama that follows the lives of a group of teenagers from Bristol, as they grow up and have new, often dangerous, experiences. In a surprising move, near enough all of the original cast were replaced after the end of the second year – something which was always planned, apparently.

Inside the Skins: Complete Second Series boxset you’ll find all 10 episodes from the season. As this is the three disc version, you’ll also find a fair amount of bonus material (which includes three featurettes, interviews, the "Skins Secret Party" special, and all six "Skins Unseen" installments from the e4 website).

Doctor Who: Series One Volume Four £2.95

Doctor Who: Series One Volume Four

When it was announced in 2005 that Christopher Eccleston was to become the ninth actor to portray Doctor Who, many were unsure whether he would be good in the role or if Billie Piper as his assistant constituted a terrible mistake. Thankfully, both fears were completely unfounded – it’s just a shame that Eccleston didn’t stick around longer, to be honest.

The Doctor Who: Series One Volume Four DVD contains the final three episodes from his era: "Boom Town", "ad Wolf", and "The Parting Of The Ways". You’ll also find audio commentaries on each installment, along with a couple of featurettes looking at the making of the show.

Chevy Chase: Vacation Collection £5.95

The Chevy Chase: Vacation Collection boxset contains four cheap DVDs

The National Lampoon’s Vacation series of films see the Griswold family get into all sorts of misadventures as they travel the world. Five movies in total have been made, but the least said about National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure, the better.

Inside the Chevy Chase: Vacation Collection boxset you’ll find the first four films from the franchise. National Lampoon’s Vacation, National Lampoon’s European Vacation, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation are all pretty good – although it’s fair to say that the original is miles better than its sequels.

Zavvi have this set available for £5.95 – for more information, click here.

Peter Pan In Return To Never Land £3.63

Peter Pan In Return To Never Land

Peter Pan In Return To Never Land is the animated sequel to the 1953 Disney classic. Whilst the original was based on the J.M. Barrie novel "Peter And Wendy", this is a completely new tale – but with all of the brilliant, and memorable, characters returning once again.

Bonus features on the DVD include a couple of deleted scenes, a music video, a short piece from ITV series "Art Attack", the "Pluto’s Fledging" short film, and an interactive game.

Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York And Home Alone 3 Triple Pack £4.99

Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York And Home Alone 3 Triple Pack

Whilst the first two Home Alone films are excellent family comedies, it’s a shame that they’ve been slightly tarnished by the two further sequels in the franchise. Even Macaulay Culkin had the good sense to steer well clear after Home Alone 2: Lost In New York – although I somehow doubt a 17 year-old being left alone in a house would have had quite the same effect anyway!

The Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York and Home Alone 3 triple pack give you the first three films in one handy collection. Suggestions for the third disc might include a stylish coaster, frisbee, or elaborate earring.
