Queen: Rock Montreal & Live Aid (Blu-Ray) £10.34

Queen: Rock Montreal & Live Aid (Blu-Ray)

Always a great live band, with arguably the greatest frontman of all-time in Freddie Mercury, Queen really excelled themselves when the cameras started rolling.

Queen: Rock Montreal & Live Aid, on Blu-Ray, contains a full two-day concert from 1981 (recored in Montreal) and all seven songs the band performed at Live Aid. There’s also an audio commentary with Brian May and Roger Taylor, Live Aid rehearsal footage, a previously unreleased Live Aid interview, and a short news feature from U.S. television.

To get this for £10.34 from CD-WOW, simply click here. Definitely one of those cheap DVDs that’s well worth adding to your collection – which reminds me, Queen: The DVD Collection – Live At Wembley Stadium is still available on standard DVD for £8.99.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me £2.99

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me revolves around the investigation into the murder of Teresa Banks and the last seven days in the life of Laura Palmer, of which these two connected murders were the central mysteries of the cult television series "Twin Peaks". It can be viewed as both a prologue and epilogue to the show, as we also find out what really happened to Agent Dale Cooper at the series’ conclusion.

Interviews with the cast and crew, a short featurette, and a 40-page collector’s booklet are included as well. Shame there’s no sign of the reported two and a half hours of deleted footage that exists – possibly we’ll see a Special Edition at some point int he future.

House Of Flying Daggers (Blu-Ray) £9.99

House Of Flying Daggers (Blu-Ray)

The comparisons between "House Of Flying Daggers" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" are obvious, as not only are they both in the wuxia genre but they both star Zhang Ziyi as well. One major difference between the two is that "House Of Flying Daggers" is more of a love story than a straight martial arts film.

Picture and sound quality are top-notch on this high definition release, as you’d expect, although the special features are disappointing. The only things included are a very short featurette on the visual effects and some storyboards.

Play.com have House Of Flying Daggers, on Blu-Ray, available for £9.99 – for more information, click here.

Queen: The DVD Collection – Live At Wembley Stadium £8.99

Queen: The DVD Collection - Live At Wembley

From the many great performances Freddie Mercury and company did over the years, it has to be Queen’s 1986 concert at Wembley stadium during the "Magic Tour" that is a favourite amongst fans.

Queen: The DVD Collection – Live At Wembley is a double disc set that not only contains this great show, but some decent bonus material as well. This includes a backstage documentary, a 2003 interview with Brian May and Roger Taylor, and some other bits and pieces.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £8.99 from Play.com.

Street Kings £3.93

Street Kings

Whilst Keanu Reeves is often criticised for being a bit boring, he quite often manages to appear in at least half-decent films. One such example is Street Kings, which is about a veteran detective who hunts down the killers of his former partner.

Sadly this is another DVD with absolutely nothing in the way of extra features – fairly ridiculous, when you consider that the U.S. release has two discs worth!

The Great Rock ‘N’ Roll Swindle £2.99

The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle

The Great Rock ‘N’ Roll Swindle is a fictional documentary about the British punk rock band Sex Pistols. Due to his refusal to have anything to do with the film, frontman Johnny Rotten only appears in archival footage and as an animated character.

On the DVD you’ll find a feature-length audio commentary with director Julien Temple, plus there’s an additional interview with him as well.

HMV are selling this for £2.99 – click here for more details.

Prick Up Your Ears, Made In Britain And Meantime Triple Pack £5.89

The Prick Up Your Ears, Made In Britain and Meantime triple pack contains a total of three cheap DVDs

In the 80s, filmmakers in Britain became known for their incredibly decent dramatic films – directors like Alan Clarke and Stephen Frears (who later went on to helm "The Queen") were at the forefront of this, with some very good work during this period.

The Prick Up Your Ears, Made In Britain and Meantime triple pack contains three of the best works from this era, with each being made in this country. Of the three, "Prick Up Your Ears" is perhaps the highlight – although Made In Britain isn’t too far behind.

Zodiac: Director’s Cut (Blu-Ray) £9.99

Zodiac: Director's Cut (Blu-Ray)

Zodiac is a David Fincher film based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Robert Graysmith. It tells the story of the hunt for a notorious serial killer who haunted the San Francisco Bay area during the late 1960s and early 1970s, leaving several victims in his wake and taunting police as he progressed.

The Zodiac: Director’s Cut Blu-Ray release contains an extra four minutes of additional footage inserted back into the movie, but it’s the bonus material where this really excels. A feature-length audio commentary and bits and prices on the making of the film are great – however, it’s the "Zodiac Deciphered" documentary that many will find most interesting (it looks into the real-life case of the Zodiac).

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection £7.93

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection

When you look at the highest-grossing films of all-time in terms of box office performance, Tom Hanks ranks very highly in terms of bankability – and with good reason, as his career has been nothing short of magnificent (barring some early rubbish).

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection is a five disc boxset that contains five of his very best movies. Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and The Terminal should be enough to entertain anyone for a time.

The Producers Double Pack £6.99

The Producers Double Pack

In what is surely a first, the 2005 remake of The Producers is based on the Broadway musical of the same name – which in turn was based on the 1968 film of the same name! Whilst some have been critical of the more recent version, I thought it was pretty good (although the ultimate version has to be the one from "Curb Your Enthusiasm"!).

The Producers double pack contains both the Gene Wilder original and Matthew Broderick remake in one handy set. Sadly there are no special features to speak of, which is a pity.

HMV have this available for £6.99 – for more information, click here.
