Ocean’s Eleven And Ocean’s Twelve Double Pack £3.73

Ocean's Eleven And Ocean's Twelve Double Pack

As far as remakes go, Ocean’s Eleven is actually rather good – George Clooney and company do a great job of not copying the Rat Pack original and instead making an almost entirely new and exciting film. The sequel, Ocean’s Twelve, isn’t quite as good but is definitely still worth a watch at least once.

You’ll never guess what’s inside the Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve double pack – that’s right, both films! Sadly neither come with any bonus material, which is a little bit disappointing.

Skins: The Complete First And Second Series £6.93 Each

Skins: The Complete First Series contains three cheap DVDs    Skins: The Complete Second Series

When Skins first appeared on e4 in 2007, initial trailers made it look like the type of thing most people would avoid – surprisingly then, it’s turned out to be rather good. OK, it’s nowhere near being a true reflection on teenage life, but it’s still pretty darn entertaining in a "guilty pleasure" sort of way.

Asda have Skins: The Complete First And Second Series available for £6.93 each at the moment – however, the price will be going up after the 18th of February (it’s a "deal of the day" thing).

The Borrowers: Series One & Two £4.99

The Borrowers: Series One & Two

Mary Norton’s series of books about tiny people who "borrow" things from regular humans have proved so popular over the years that there’s been more than one attempt at bringing them to life.

The Borrowers: Series One & Two boxset contains every episode from the BBC interpretation, along with some bonus material. This amounts to a clip from Blue Peter and a "making of" featurette, along with a short quiz.

Runaway Bride £1.89

Runaway Bride

Runaway Bride is a romantic comedy that reunites the director (Garry Marshall) and stars (Richard Gere and Julia Roberts) of Pretty Woman. Whilst not as successful as the previous movie, it still managed to prove a hit with cinemagoers across the globe.

The DVD doesn’t come with any special features at all – not even a trailer – but the price is so low that this isn’t that much of a problem.

Argos have this available for only £1.89 – for more information, click here.

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection £9.99

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection

When you look at the films that Tom Hanks has been in thus far, it’s easy to see why he’s seen as one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. Near enough every one has done fantastically well at the box office, with critics and audiences lapping up his performances as well.

Tom Hanks: The Landmark Collection is a boxset which contains five of his best movies. Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and The Terminal are all excellent in their own right – Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan in particular are brilliant.

Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan £2.99

Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan is one of the funniest cheap DVDs you'll ever see

As far as titles go, Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan has to be the longest I’ve ever seen. The comedy mockumentary itself is downright hilarious to boot, so much so that Sacha Baron Cohen won a Golden Globe for his efforts.

The DVD comes with some equally funny extra features, including a handful of deleted scenes and a Baywatch spoof. There’s also a genuine TV news report on Borat’s appearance at a rodeo, which is perhaps the best of the bunch.

Full Metal Jacket (Blu-Ray) £9.99

Full Metal Jacket (Blu-Ray)

Although there’s been a few movies made about the Vietnam conflict, only a handful of them are worthy of repeat viewings. Apocalypse Now and Platoon lead the way, but Full Metal Jacket isn’t too far behind – intense, harrowing drama brings to life how normal people are turned into trained killers.

The high definition release of the film sees it looking and sounding better than ever. There aren’t any extras to speak of, however I think you’ll agree that the movie itself makes up for this disappointment.

HMV have Full Metal Jacket, on Blu-Ray, available for £9.99 – for more information, click here. Definitely one of those cheap DVDs that you’ll come back to time and again, especially if you’re a fan of the genre or Stanley Kubrick.
