X-Men Double Pack £3.89

The first X-Men film has a story that is very faithful to the comic books, but the sequel is where everybody sat up and took notice of the series. X2 raised the bar for superhero movies in general, with some excellent acting and genuinely decent special effects – it was probably the best in the genre, until Batman Begins came along.

This X-Men double pack contains the X-Men 1.5 DVD, which is a fancy name for the Special Edition DVD of X-Men, and X2. Both are loaded with extra features, ranging from audio commentaries to deleted scenes via countless featurettes.

Eddie Murphy Collection £11.61

Though it may seem hard to believe now, Eddie Murphy used to be one of the best comedy performers in the world – this was before he had kids, and decided that everyone should enjoy such guff as The Haunted Mansion and The Adventures Of Pluto Nash (although the Shrek films are very good, so he deserves a bit of credit for his role).

The Eddie Murphy Collection boxset contains four excellent comedies in the shape of 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, Coming To America, and Trading Places. Sadly it also includes a couple of stinkers – The Golden Child and Norbit.

Camp Rock: Extended Rock Star Edition £6.93

After the success of the High School Musical films, it was inevitable that the Disney Channel would make more musicals starring irritating teenagers – so say hello to Camp Rock. The big stars of this are The Jonas Brothers, who seem to be popular down to the fact that they don’t believe in sex before marriage (fools!).

The Camp Rock: Extended Rock Star Edition DVD has a longer ending and various other fluffy features that kids will enjoy. Just be prepared to hear some truly awful songs being sung by some very annoying teens…

Friday The 13th: From Crystal Lake To Manhattan – Ultimate Edition DVD Collection £13.99

Friday The 13th is a franchise of films which are mainly based on the fictional character of Jason Voorhees, who drowned at Camp Crystal Lake as a boy due to the negligence of the teenage counselors. Decades later the lake becomes the setting for a series of mass murders, with Jason being either the killer or the motivation for the killings.

The Friday The 13th: From Crystal Lake To Manhattan – Ultimate Edition DVD Collection boxset holds the first eight entries. Unfortunately, only the first movie contains any extras (a "making of" documentary and a commentary) even though the back of the box claims there are more.

The IT Crowd: Series One & Two £9.99

Though it’s been some time since Father Ted finished, the comedy series is still rightfully regarded as one of the best we have ever had in this country. Graham Linehan, who was one of the creators, has since gone on to create yet another top comedy in the form of The IT Crowd – which is about the shenanigans of a three-strong IT support team working for a fictitious British corporation in London.

The IT Crowd: Series One & Two boxset contains the first 12 episodes, alongside a fair amount of bonus material. This includes audio commentaries, outtakes, and a short film titled "Hello Friend".

Good Bye Lenin! £3.99

Good Bye Lenin! is a German tragicomedy about a boy who must convince his mother that Communism hasn’t been overthrown. Which sounds easy enough, until you consider that any kind of shock could bring on a fatal heart attack…

Sadly there are no special features on the DVD at all, but there are English subtitles – handy for those of us who don’t quite have a full understanding of the language.

Little Britain: Series One To Three £7.99

If you’ve seen Little Britain USA, then I’m sure that you’ll agree it wasn’t a patch on the original – the new characters were fairly average, and some old favourites seem to be getting a bit tired now to be honest. Here’s hoping Walliams and Lucas come up with something better for the second season…

The Little Britain: Series One To Three boxset gives you a chance to remember the glory years, with a total of 20 episodes contained within it. There’s also hours of bonus material, which includes audio commentaries and deleted scenes.

How The West Was Won: Special Edition £5.99

How The West Was Won is an epic Western that follows four generations of a family as they move ever westward, from western New York state all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Filmed in the Cinerama curving widescreen process, for many years this looked odd on flat screens… until now.

The How The West Was Won: Special Edition DVD set contains three discs, with the first two containing the movie and an audio commentary, and the third holding the extensive "Cinerama Adventure" documentary (which is just about an hour and a half in length).

The Mist is yet another Stephen King novella that Frank Darabont, director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, has managed to bring to life. When a thunderstorm cuts off the power to a small town, can the inhabitants survive attacks from abnormal creatures?…

As you’ve come to expect, this looks and sounds excellent in high definition – it’s also nice to see that all of the extra features from the standard DVD release have made their way across too (including the ability to watch the entire thing in black and white).
